        Getting the keeper to stand up to quicker bowlers, which could result in more byes more missed chances by keepers but maybe more pressure on the batsmen and a possible stumping from a good keeper.

          rain in OD games d/l cums into it

          on international career u can select who u want to play and how much u want to play them i.e 5 tests 3 ODI 2 T20 except obvious tours i.e ashes world cup etc

          tours in pre season 4 counties

            duckworth/lewis failed epically in cricket coach so it must be pretty hard to put in
            get some new commentries please it is the same old thing every time i can even predict what he will say as soon as they hit it
            have players charge down the wicket

              This has been said by alot before but i'm gonna repeat it again as it just annoyed me playing. A way to sim a time period or a set amount of a type of match would be good. Personally i'm not a big fan of the 20/20s and find they end up abit random as to wether i win or lose and they seem to have such a huge impact on my players form. While not simming and actually playing my players fitness and form seem to fall drastically (even if they score a quick 30 off 10 balls or something it seems to rate that as a bad performace) so a way to lessen the impact they have on form and to sim them without losing too much would be appreciated. i Don't think real players take a bad performance in a couple of t20's to heart.

                Something I'd posted in an earlier thread regarding bowlers' form :

                "The form/confidence is TOO HEAVILY dependent on wickets & economical bowling isn't rewarded at all it seems so, in a T20, 4-0-20-0 will result in a decrease in form & 4-0-40-2 will see an increase which needs some rectification & economy rates also need to be taken into account while assessing form/confidence of bowlers, especially in limited overs games & may be to a somewhat smaller extent in the longer formats. One of my bowlers has been going for less than 6 RPO in the last few consecutive T20s but his form/confidence is being shown as ZERO serious flaw this.

                ICC should definitely have a look at this issue & have an in-game system of flexible RPO "benchmarks" for RPOs for different formats of the game & bowling at an RPO less than the respective benchmark should result in an increase in form/confidence (coupled with wickets taken, importance of those wickets & total overs bowled) & an RPO higher than the respective benchmark should result in a decrease in form/confidence. Benchmarks can be like for example, for long-form games, an RPO of 3.5 or opposition team's run-rate whichever is HIGHER; an RPO of 5/4.5 for 40/50 overs games (respectively) or opposition team's run-rate whichever is LOWER; for T20s an RPO of 7.5 or opposition team's run-rate whichever is LOWER, etc.

                One must realize that bowlers' form/confidence is not just limited to wickets taken but often, good economical spells with a few "near misses" with no wickets or less wickets can make a bowler feel just as good as taking a bucketful of wickets and then they carry forward this good feeling (form/confidence) stemmed from economical spells into next few games & actually end up taking a bucketful of wickets."

                  lets make it that players don't have to retire by the age of 41 eg. lets say Mark Ramprakash still scores heaps of runs at 45 yrs old or Phillip Hughes can't get past 10 runs in a game at 24yrs they should retire when they lose thier skill.
                  In real life thier are often comebacks in all sports including cricket, maybe when a player retires they should be put in a legends 20 over league for a couple of years were if they perform well they can comeback and get a 20 over contract at a club.

                    This has been put in as a point to work on for 2011. It's a bit of a "pet hate" of mine in the game. This is again just how the game moves forward, what might have been a bad eco rate 5-6 years ago, is now average. Always hard to get a balance with AI.

                      Yes, with the invasion of T20 & pitches getting flatter & flatter since the year 2000 or so, "average" RPOs have increased drastically; around about 2000 or so, an RPO of 4 was where most of the top bowlers in the world used to be in ODIs, now it's very difficult to even spot someone with an RPO of under 5 after playing substantial amount of ODI Cricket. With pitches getting flatter, bat starts dominating which in turn, gets more youngsters to grow up wanting to be batsmen & lesser number of them want to be bowlers which in turn, means less quality bowlers are produced in the world cricket, so bat dominates even more & so on; it's a vicious circle the sport has gotten into & it won't stop getting worse until the ICC & cricketing nations come together & decide to intervene.

                      Anyways, thanks for noting it down for the development cycle.

                        While the idea of making the Australian Domestic contracts does seem like a good idea, it doesn't accurately reflect the way that things are done, and the designers are looking to replicate things in RL.

                        I like the idea of the batsmen being able to give better instruction, as far as the kinds of runs that they are looking to score. When trying to "farm the strike", it seems a lot of the time they are just looking to score a single off the last 2 balls to keep the strike and hit a four if they can. I'd like to be able to see the batsman look to hit a couple of twos in there, as well. Maybe an option to set the aggression level for each type of run - ie - in a T20 you might want to set maximum aggression to 1's, 4's and 6's, and a moderate aggression to other runs. Or just maximum aggression to 1's as they look to rotate the strike.

                        The ability to have a "shot" and "ball" repotoire would be a nice feature, as well as listing preferences that are not mutually exclusive - ie Batsman X can be a Spin Specialist and also have Strong Pace Preference.

                        Being able to bowl multiple bowling styles would also be a bonus - OS and RM seems a common mix for some allrounders.

                        Being able to train a player in an area that he does not already have skill - like making a player a wicketkeeper, or an opening batsman, etc.

                        Overthrows. Where are they?

                        A way of downloading the stats into an Excel file for us with too much time on our hands that like to look at stats.

                        A more realistic FTP - if a team like Bangladesh starts to climb into the top 5 Test Team rankings, they would be getting a lot more tours, because they would be more popular and bankable.

                        Quick singles - a lot of good batsmen know how to pick their fielder, and hit the ball to their "wrong" hand, etc.

                        Specialist fielding positions, with the player being selected into those positions when they are set, rather than having to move them there.

                        Being able to adjust the batting and bowling order in between innings - it doesn't happen too much these days, but there was a time when a team was following on, that a captain would put the guy that just made 100+ not out in with one of the openers because he was already settled and seeing the ball quite well.

                            Some simple solution of this kind is pretty much a necessity for T20 - the profusion of dot-balls especially to new batsmen is a big flaw where realism is concerned.

                            Andrew Symonds DOES bowl spin AND slow-medium - it's a fact, so simulating it is a necessity. And I'm sure he's not the only one, so his retirement doesn't get you off the hook.

                            Overthrows AND throws to the bowler's end AND throws to neither end backed up at cover - they are part of cricket: Please please put them in the game.

                            And I would also like to download stats. Transcribing them all by hand like I currently do is downright medieval. Plus my order of monks all claim to have better things to do!

                            There are a lot of 'quick' singles currently, but the fieldsmen, and especially their throws, are all so slow (AND to the keeper, even from mid-off/mid-on), that most RL suicide runs are fairly safe. Speaking of suicide, runouts regularly occur on hits straight to short midwicket - any schoolboy could see there's no run there.

                            As to fielding positions, I noted with approval a msg from the developers elsewhere that fielding ability is taken into account by the match engine. Kudos and much appreciated!

                            Not a biggie, but it would be nice to be able to rely on the default fields not to place someone with two left hands in a specialist catching position. Some of the default fields place the number '9' fieldsman at short leg, whereas this is usually the guy who IRL languishes at long-off or fine leg.

                            There's an impressive-looking trophy (with an impressive-sounding name!) in it for you if you implement these for 2011!

                              Mark Waugh used to do the same thing. And Shane Warne, when he was recovering from an injury to his bowling fingers, used to bowl a bit of medium pace for Victoria in the Australian Domestic Season, but I think they really justed wanted Warne back in the side for his charisma, and leadership ability.
