    Nottinghamshire vs Netherlands

    Squad News:

Broad, Swann and Murray all return. Cowan’s poor OD form sees him drop out the team.

    Toss:
Netherlands win the toss and bat.

    Netherlands Innings:
Our bowling was a bit substandard. Most of the wickets fell at the end, and it looked for a while that we’d have a massive total to chase. Still, Broad and Phillips rallied round, and we stopped any major hitting at the end.

    Notts Innings:
We nearly made a meal of it. Fortunately Hales, Murray and Read provided some quick runs that finally gave us the victory, albeit a lot closer than we’d have liked.

    Batting Award:
Chris Read – his quick runs saved us at the end

    Bowling Award:
S Broad – A good 5for for the England international on his return.

      Nottinghamshire vs Sussex

      Squad News:

No changes as Luke Fletcher is ruled out for 8 days with injury.

      Toss:
Nottinghamshire win the toss and bat.

Not going into detail... but yeah, we got thrashed.

      Batting Award:
Chris Read – another good performance at the death

      Bowling Award:
S Broad – well, someone has to have it.

        Nottinghamshire vs Sussex

        Squad News:

Shahzad in for Phillips and Franks for Patel are the changes

        Toss:
Notts win the toss and bat

        Day 1:
Shocking batting saw us fall before the close. We didn’t even get 300. Were it not for Ramshaw and the tail-enders, I’m not sure we would have got any points.
Sussex got the chance to bat before the end of the day, reaching 12-1.

        Day 2:
Yet again our bowling cost us. Sussex got over 300 as we struggled to remove Wells or Gatting. Other than that, Sussex were struggling. A little disappointed doesn’t quite cover it.

        Day 3 & 4:
We escaped. And I’m giving credit to both the rain and Alex Hales. Hales is definitely one for the future. The rain cost Sussex 2 ½ hours. Thankfully. For now though, we have a T20 campaign to look forward to.

        Batting Award:
Alex Hales – bit obvious really

        Bowling Award:
Shahzad – got rid of both Gatting and Wells in the first innings.

          Nottinghamshire vs Leicestershire

          Squad News:

Cowan and Franks are unavailable, so Hussey and Butler come in. Patel also returns to the team.

          Toss:
Nottinghamshire win the toss and bat first

          Nottinghamshire Innings:
Yet again, it was Alex Hales who finished with the most runs for us. David Hussey provided some useful runs on his return to the club as well, and contributions all through the order saw pose a daunting score.

          Leics Innings:
Leicestershire never really looked like posing a major challenge. The bowlers ripped through them, and there were a couple of welcome wickets for Graeme Swann, who has been out of form this season.

          Batting Award:
Alex Hales – attacked from the off for a good score

          Bowling Award:
Graeme Swann – two useful wickets, and bowled well

            Nottinghamshire vs Lancashire

            Squad News:

No changes for me, they had a good game last time so hopefully they can repeat it.

            Toss:
Nottinghamshire win the toss and bat first.

            Nottinghamshire Innings:
Hales and Lumb led from the front, putting on a century stand. Unfortunately, no-one else could help out, and we could have possibly got a bigger total.

            Lancashire Innings:
The bowlers let us down this time. Swann and Butler bowled economically, but the rest struggled and we lost out in a close encounter.

            Batting Award:
Alex Hales – Once again, a high half century

            Bowling Award:
Ian Butler – Economical and got wickets

              Nottinghamshire vs Derbyshire

              Squad News:

Patel injured, so Taylor returns. Broad also misses out for some poor performances, so Mullaney comes back.

              Toss:
Nottinghamshire win the toss and bat first.

              Nottinghamshire Innings:
Hales didn’t get a half century! He did get 27 from 13 though, so he did contribute. We had a mini collapse, but runs for Shahzad and Swann helped support Taylor’s wonderful innings. A good platform to work from as the weather darkens.

              Derbyshire Innings:
I’d like to point out that after 2 overs, Derbyshire were 7-1. We tried to throw it away.Mullaney was expensive, but ended up bowling the final over with 7 needed from 6. A wicket off the first ball saw the win though. Some neat and tidy bowling from Adams and Swann helped tie down the middle overs, and we managed to get the win.

              Batting Award:
James Taylor – great performance as others fell around him

              Bowling Award:
Andre Adams – A maiden to start, and 3 wickets

                Nottinghamshire vs Durham

                Squad News:

Swann and Broad go to fight for the Ashes, so Gurney replaces Swann, and Mullaney keeps his place.

                Toss:
Nottinghamshire win the toss and bat first

                Nottinghamshire Innings:
Ramshaw finally joins the T20 party. A good half century for him; hopefully the first of many. Taylor also batted well, as the pair put us in a very good position. Ben Stokes opened the bowling, not entirely sure why. Almost as weird as Chris Woakes coming in at 4 for Warwickshire.

                Durham Innings:
Another close one, but fortunately the experience of Adams, and some economical bowling from Mullaney saw us get the win. Mullaney got both Coughlin, a youth batsman, and Stokes, and snuffed out the Durham charge right at the end.

                Batting Award:
Tom Ramshaw – Maiden half century for the talented batsman

                Bowling Award:
                Mullaney – Two key wickets

Thanks I've found him to be very inconsistent at times, and expensive, although I'm yet to use him since the patch, so I'm not sure if that had a massive effect or not

                      Nottinghamshire vs Surrey
                      Squad News:

Fletcher replaces the ineligible Butler in the only change. Cowan is on international duty, so Hussey continues in the team.

                      Toss:
Surrey win the toss and bowl first

                      Day 1:
Surrey 370-9 after day 1. A bit ridiculous really. Still, Shahzad got wickets, so it could have been so much worse.

                      Day 2:
We pretty much matched Surrey in our first innings, as we clocked up 360-7. A strong position for us with wickets left, but it has been a close match.

                      Day 3:
We managed to get full batting points after a spirited performance from Taylor and the tailenders, eventually finishing on 465. In reply, Surrey were 181-4, as Shahzad struck a late blow in removing De Bruyn in the last over of the day.

                      Day 4:
At lunch, we were definitely in the driving seat. Surrey were languishing on 243-9, after some great bowling from Gurney and Shahzad saw wickets tumble. We should win this one now.
At tea, Nottinghamshire still needed 143 to win. It was going to be a close run match, but with Hussey and Hales at the crease, I was fairly confident.
We came off the field as victors. Only just though. Thankfully James Taylor was there til just before the end to keep the innings ticking over.

                      Batting Award:
James Taylor – top scored in both innings

                      Bowling Award:
Ajmal Shahzad – 9 in the match, in one of our better bowling displays

                        Nottinghamshire vs Leicestershire

                        Squad News:

Back to the T20 then. Firstly, two new youth players join our ranks. Vic Hammett is a 20 year old wicket-keeper, with a 2nd team average of 22.71. He may be kept as a backup for Read for the foreseeable future, but he will get a couple of games at the end of the season. Our other new arrival is Roy Burridge. He’s a 22 year old middle order batsman but can open in the shorter formats, with a 2nd team average just short of 50. He looks promising.

Now for today’s match – Burridge comes in for his first match, and Butler returns. Andy Carter also gets a run out for this.

                        Toss:
Leicestershire win the toss and bowl first

                        Notts Innings:
Good performances for Burridge, on debut, Taylor and Mullaney saw us in a commanding position. We scored quickly throughout the innings, and I’m confident this is very defendable in these conditions.

                        Leics Innings:
After a blistering start, Leicestershire faltered. Carter got 2 wickets in his first over to halt the charge, and they never recovered. Mullaney bowled consistently, and snaffled the tail-enders before they could do any damage.

                        Batting Award:
James Taylor – half century against his old team

                        Bowling Award:
Steven Mullaney – got wickets cheaply

                          Nottinghamshire vs Warwickshire

                          Squad News:

Back to the county circuit again. I keep faith with the team, as Butler is swapped with Adams

                          Toss:
Notts win the toss and bat first

                          Day 1:
We completely dominated with the bat, reaching 423-4. There were some great centuries for Lumb and Hales, and having already secured the batting points, we can push to bat Warwickshire out the match.

                          Day 2:
Another high scoring day saw us finish on 562. Hussey finally went for 174 off 175.
Warwickshire then reached 276-6, but are still 286 behind and could suffer the follow on.

                          Day 3 & 4:
Yet another close finish. We well and truly cocked it up though. The fact that we let Warwickshire get to a point where they could declare was appalling. Once again our batting was good. A rather hollow victory after such a promising start.

                          Batting Award:
David Hussey – 2 outstanding innings in differing circumstances

                          Bowling Award:
Andre Adams – good bowling in both innings

                            Squad News:

Only change is Adams out, Butler in. Same team otherwise.

                            Toss:
Nottinghamshire lose the toss and bat first

                            Notts Innings:
We didn’t really bat that well. Hussey battered the bowlers around a bit, but no-one else joined in, and we were well below-par.

                            Durham Innings:
Durham didn’t bat that well either, but they made it to the target. We bowled well enough, but we deserved to lose this one.

                            Batting Award:
David Hussey – Stand out performance from the Aussie

                            Bowling Award:
Mullaney – pegged Durham back when it looked so easy.

A win here puts us close to the next round of the cup. Lots to play for then. With that in mind, Adams comes in for Gurney.

                              Toss:
Notts win the toss and bat first

                              Very disappointed.

                                Squad News:

The England lads are back, so Broad and Swann replace Carter and Adams

                                Toss:
Derbyshire win the toss and bowl

                                Notts Innings:
A high scoring innings with James Taylor at the heart of it. He gets his first T20 century as Derbyshire’s bowlers were smashed all over the place.

                                Derbyshire Innings:
They pushed the match a lot closer than I’d have liked. We still won by a sizeable margin for a T20 match, but given how Derbys were struggling, we couldn’t quite make the killing blow.

                                Batting Award:
James Taylor – Do I really need to explain this one?
