Having recently started a new county save, I've noticed a few things that I think have been brought up before but strike me as somewhat vexing or a little unrealistic.
1) Is there some kind of algorithm at work in the code that makes getting out in the nineties a more frequent occurrence in this version, its baffles me how many of my batsmen - especially regens - have 2 hundreds and 12 fifties and five or six of those fifties are nineties. It's not unusual, perhaps, for certain players to have a difficult time in the nineties, but to have so many constantly getting out in nineties seems a bit strange.
2) A similar thing really, is there some function which tries to stop teams getting bundled out? I've lost count of how many times I've had a time 80/8 or some such and their 9, 10, or 11 have got a hundred and got the opposition up to 400, with bowlers who previously had no batting talent. It's the same kind of thing that happens when you have an opposition chasing 350 on the last day, on a crumbling pitch, and they waltz home with it, when they might have been got out cheaply early on. Every now and then is not unusual, but it happens an inordinate amount.
3) With regens, and players in general, I find their form long-term is remarkably fluid. One season they might be red hot and then for the next five they're abysmal, it seems strange that a player who starts well so quickly loses confidence and form, and some just keep going and going, especially when they are looked after. Anomalies are fine, but when it happens to often it becomes a little grating. Though, I would concede that this is pretty realistic of players not living up to their potential.
To the above points I have to agree, a sacking or moving club function could make the game interesting. For instance, club to international, then failing at international and having to find a club - possibly somewhere else in the world - would make an interesting dynamic. Fundamentally, I would be looking at ways of making the game more enjoyable in the long term, which could be as simple as giving options to add and remove control of competitions (i.e. stopping and starting 20/20) and moving clubs and different levels of international teams, perhaps?
Also a better coaching system that actually lets you know how decent a player is, rather than the current system which doesn't really tell you anything about what's going on. "Player has improved at back foot play" doesn't show how much or what that means for his actual skill level. This could be incorporated into a system whereby players can alter their roles through their careers: "player has improved his back foot game and is now comfortable opening the batting" and he gets a little "o" next to him. Or some way to show, say, all rounders' primary roles and being able to even this up with good coaching sense, or making an all rounder into a better batsman who can eventually open a la Tom Smith.
Also, though it's really not an important part of the game, some attention given to the highlights. Not in improving graphics (the improvement between '14 and '15 isn't really noticeable) but it's strange that players get caught at deep leg slip off what looks like a bottom edge, or players get caught pulling to short leg, or a player running towards the boundary and catching the ball from behind him. It doesn't have to be too slick, but it would be nice to see some of the more bizarre animations tightened up a little.
