    • I've rated the youth players at several counties I've been playing as/researched. Using a scale of how they should turn out:

1 - Unbelievable prospect. 50+ with bat. Sub 20 with the ball.

2 - Top prospect, good county maybe even England standard. Average with the bat in the 40s or mid 20s with the ball. 45k+ salary.

3 - Solid county level prospect, averages the right side of 30 with bat and/or ball. 30-45k salary.

4 - Fringe county player. Mid 20s with bat, mid 30s with ball. 24-30k salary.

      5 - Second XI standard. Sub 20, 40 plus. 18-24k salary.

I'd imagine anyone in a category has an 80% chance of settling at that level with 10% chance the one above or below. Happy to expand on my reasoning for each player but generally overlooked at second team averages, England under 19 recognition, 'hype' or word of mouth and attempted to overlay a realistic level of balance and randomness.

      Somerset (Great academy)

      Smeed - 2
      Goldsworthy - 2
      Aldridge - 3
      Leonard - 2 or 3
      Green - 3 or 4
      Sale - 3 or 4
      Young - 3 or 4

      Gloucestershire (Average academy)

      Charlesworth - 2
      T.Price - 3
      Willows - 3 or 4
      O.Price - 4 or 5
      Goodman - 4 or 5
      H.Hankins - 4 or 5
      G.Drissell - 4

      Derbyshire (Poor academy)

      Dal - 3 or 4
      Priestley - 4 or 5
      Conners - 3
      Aitchinson - 2 or 3
      Cohen - 3

      Leicestershire (Good academy)

      Dearden - 4
      Swindells - 3
      S.Evans - 3
      A.Evans - 3 or 4
      Bowley - 3 or 4
      Mike - higher end 3

      Glamorgan (Poor but prolific academy)

      Cooke - 3 or 4
      Carlson - 3 or 4
      Horton - 2, 3 or 4
      Taylor - 3
      Walker - 3
      Carey - 3
      Sisidoya - 3
      Bull - 5
      Brown- 5

      Northants

      Thurston - 2 or 3
      Gay - 2 or 3
      Gouldstone - 2 or 3
      Glover - 3
Sole - 3 or 4 (white ball specialist)
      Zaib - 3 or 4

Fans of the counties may have more accurate opinions!

Hmm how odd. It's not the Callum Taylor at Essex you're looking at is it? I've definitely not seen Glamorgan's do much in game. Definitely him I was looking at. The "Essex" Callum Taylor is not in CC2020.

Joe Cooke seems a bit overrated in game as he normally does well even in the first season, I'd perhaps suggest swapping his ability/potential with Taylor who doesn't seem to do well. The problem with young players is, no one knows how they will turn out. Whilst Taylor has had a ton this year and Cooke hasn't, it's a tiny sample size and no one knows what will happen in the future. Cooke's rating isn't high, by any stretch.

Is it possible to tweak Glamorgan so Salter plays in the Blast in game? He's a key bowler for them really but doesn't get in the side. I've improved his ability and tweaked his AI selection.

Also did you catch the point on Douthwaite? Yes, have now.

L.Goldsworthy has been a frequent part of travelling squads and I'm hearing some real hype about his potential especially with the ball, no doubt a factor in why heaven and earth weren't moved to try and keep Bess who is going to Yorkshire. I'd suggest he should ability wise be right on the fringe of the first team. EDIT: Two t20 games now where he's batted and bowled superbly. Also Will Smeed and Ned Leonard have signed pro deals with Smeed batting at 3 in the t20s and a 50 to his name already.

          Improved Goldsworthy with the ball.

Ollie Sale with a succesful t20 debut, another player who gets nowhere near the in game side so perhaps due a nudge to his bowling to put him nearer. His in-game ability is fair compared to his real numbers.
I don't think Abell has opened in at least the last 2 seasons and has really matured into the top order batsman role coming in at 3 or 4. Byrom and Lammonby are the red ball openers with Green (who needs returned to opener and looked solid against Essex) as backup and Young a prospect but behind the others for now. Davies, Azam and at one point Bartlett have shared the T20 opening role with Banton obviously an option too.

Abell opened in 14 out of 26 innings in 2019. Green is an oepner in the next update.

Will Goldsworthy, Smeed and Sale be good enough to get in the T20 side in game? They've all played a role especially Sale who played every game, took the most wickets and bowled the most overs other than Waller in the Blast.

I've improved Sale, though he has been going at over 10 in this season's comp. Smeed I've left as is, I feel his ability is about right, there's a bit of an oddity this year with no Corey Anderson, I suspect he'd have played could he have travelled. Goldsworthy I've improved with the ball.

Also looks like a couple posts at the end of the 15th and beginning of the 16th page were missed. Thanks for all the replies to feedback.

          • Lynx54321 Thanks for your replies. I'm waiting on a database rebuild, will check the points in the two posts above before DB is finalised. Not quite sure when next patch will be, we're close, couple of new kits coming in soon that I want to get in. Thanks for pointing out the 15th/16th page.

No worries Nige. Thanks for all the continued graft on the database, it's a superb piece of work.

Odd, Cooke's contract often seems to expire at the end if the first season and I've both played as Glamorgan and renewed it and picked him up in other saves and he generally seems to have a succesful first season and ask for a contract on around 40k and thereafter consistently score it threaten 1000 runs a season in first class. Whereas Taylor I've yet to see play more than a rare list A game before being released. In real life I think Taylor looks a much more promising prospect.

I've made improvements to Callum Taylor with both bat and ball.

                • Hi Sureshot, I`m back. In my efforts for accuracy with the status of the ATG`s, here`s 4 more that need changing. Vijay Manjrekar, Hanif Mohammad, Bruce Edgar & Cammie Smith. All were occasional wicket keepers, and should be amended as such. Many Thanks.

Have changed all those to PT keepers.

                  • Did you see the note about Bracey not opening anymore? Seems to have been a one off for the England warm up.

                    Changed Bracey to middle order.

I think he should be 3 in first class and list A and 5 in t20s.

Also Glamorgan have said David Lloyd will open in all formats next season. He didn't play first class this season due to injury but perhaps could be changed to open in all formats. Hemphrey had a poor season with Joe Cooke seeming to overtake him in the pecking order so perhaps due a decrease though Cooke was also poor, both significantly worse than Selman who is still solid rather than great. Joe Cooke seems to perform better than Lloyd and Taylor right from the first season in game so maybe both need a slight nudge with Cooke needing a nerf.

I'll be leaving Lloyd as is, even if Glamorgan say he'll open next season, that's still 6 months away.

Sisidoya had an outstanding Blast, I wonder if he should be tweaked to ensure effectiveness/selection in the short format in game alongside Salter as they've shared the spin duties. Conversely Douthwaite struggled a bit with the ball, perhaps looks more of a batting all rounder and perhaps should be very aggressive based on batting exploits in the Blast where he looked more effective than in the 4 day games.

Sisodiya has been improved for next update.

Couple other bits for Glamorgan would be McIllroy getting a nerf, he's not done much in real life yet plays ahead of Carey and Walker in game.

Walker has been improved, there's not a lot special about McIlroy's ability, so I'm going to leave as is.

Aaron Lilley at Leicestershire may need a slight batting improveme after a good Blast this year.

Lilley hasn't got a great record, some runs this year in the Blast, but don't feel it's enough to change him.

Tom Taylor has moved to Northants and this season is showing he's an aggressive batsman in my opinion.

His SRs aren't much to shout about, he had an aggressive innings in the BWT this season, but not a big data set to use as an example. Only 100SR in 20 Over. His career FC SR is 45, over a decent data size.

He'll also be staying at Leics, as he started the season there and has played a lot for them this season.

At Derbyshire I think Tom Wood should be similar batting ability wise to Alex Hughes. Both are players who might peak at 30ish similar to Critchley and Dal. Conners may need a small boost with the ball, still not seeing him get in the Derbyshire side. Palladino probably needs a nerf, lack of gametime and subsequent release this season probably suggest he's over the hill.

Fair call, Wood was over-rated so I've nerfed him.

At Gloucester Tom Smith could do with a t20 bowling boost after a great Blast with the ball. Same with Van Buuren who is a much better t20 bowler than first class now where he is overrated in game. David Payne also a quality death bowler alongside Howell, both seem to be a bit expensive in t20s in game. Still feel Hammond is slightly too poorly rated too, struggles badly in game but is at least a useful t20 batsman in real life.

Payne's real life economy isn't really showing me that he's too expensive in game. I've improved Smith, Hammond's rating looks fair to me compared to real life.

Is possible to set players contract lengths? Luke Wells, Harry Finch (both Sussex), Bull, Brown, Hemphrey (Glamorgan), Liam Banks (Warwickshire), Rob Newton (Northants), Tony Palladino (Derbyshire), Nash (Notts), Cosgrove, Wright, Horton (Leicestershire) Jerome Taylor and George Drissell (Gloucestershire) have all been released so far so should be on 1 year contracts at the start of game. Same with players we know to be moving like Warner and Roderick.

                    • Hi Sureshot, never a person to make things easy for you and your team, I`ve been looking at the symbols denoting the players status, EG Opener, Batsman, Wicket Keeper & Bowler. You even show a Bsm/WK, but what I believe is missing, is a different symbol for an Opener/Occasional WK. If you look at Alex Stewart, an Opener/Wk. & Gerhardus Liebenberg, who is an opener/occasional WK, they look the same. Is there anyway this can be rectified? Many Thanks, hope you can see my point on this issue, as I`m still trawling through records for more Occasional Wicket Keepers.

                      Replied in thread.

                      • Another great ton from Lammonby and on a big stage too. What a player he is going to be.

I've given him another bump, an impressive situation to get a century.

I wouldn't call Woakes ODI has massively tailed off recently considering he is averaging 21.23 with the bat from 21 matches in 18 months compared to 25.78. While his bowling averages 26.70 compared to career average of 30.34. He currently at no 2 in ODI allrounders and no 7 in Test allrounders. Though the ranking system does tend to be flawed at times as players are penalized when they are either injured or rested.

We're currently checking up with Mike/Charles on when we can next do a 2020 update, we've been trying to get the final 2019 Android update out, but Google have stopped responding to us. I've been ill over the last week, so not had a chance to check up on other points posted recently, will look at that tomorrow.
