Okay, a few extra stats would be nice, like One Day scores and partnerships listed, but I would much rather have more domestic leagues added, the ability to change teams, more realistic matches (in terms of what happens), and without the last one, the stats wouldn't be comparable to real life stats anyway. What I'm saying is, by all means, put stats on your list, but put them right near the bottom. I'm not asking for ICC to be made a be-a-team-of-cricketers game, like Brian Lara or EA Sports, I'm just asking for the stats to be put off for a few years until more pressing targets are met.
Incidently I have no problem at all with other domestic leagues being added, I just like creating history as I go along, not just seeing if I can get a better score out of 100.

Bowler Options
I think as the game is called cricket captain, i reckon that it would be good to be able to say little things to your bowler to try to get them to change it up a bit to try to enforce the wicket.
For example in a situation where there is a big partnership in and you want to try to fire up your quick strike bowler by saying something like "give it your all" where your bowler will try to bowl as fast as he can for 2 or 3 overs but will tire quickly and depending on how good the bowler is, they might stray on there line.
Or also in another situation when your spinner is bowling, you might be able to say "mix it up" where your spinner will try a few doosra's quicker balls and such which makes him more likely to take the wicket but will conceed alot more runs.
Obviously i think there would deffinately have to be a limit on how often you can say these things and also depending of the character of the bowler, who might ignore what you said completely.
What do you think?

Steely, I would suggest that while this idea sounds good on the surface, there are two problems.
1. You may run short on things to say very quickly, as there is not much here that isn't on the current system, with your "Give it Your All" idea sounding far too much like V. Aggressive. "Mix it up" might work, but possibly more of a selection for swing and spin bowlers which way you want them to swing/spin it, which could lead to reverse swing not working early in the innings, for example.
2. The "personality" idea sounds far too much like FM, and I could imagine people never picking bowlers/batsmen merely on their traits.

With the personality thing, i didnt mean for it to sound like FM. By that i just meant like some people will ignore what you tell them and others would take it on and give it a go. I wouldnt want for it to give you the attributes or the personal details.
Although on the personal details, i think it would be good for there to be bowling styles. like we have things like "slight legside preference", Perhaps for bowling style you could have like "slight tendancy to bowl around the wicket to left handers" or "Bowls well at the death"

Hey Fellas,
I'm new to this forum. I've never bought any of these International Cricket Captain games but i am very keen to get International Cricket Captain 2009.
Just a few questions.
Can someone plz explain how this game works. What do you do in it?
What consoles does the game come out on?
On this forum, where are most ppl from? Are most of youse from England?
Any idea on a release date?
I would like to suggest that you have the Australian Domestic Season in there as well.
Cheers

Some guy on another forum made a good point that things might change, such as players moving clubs, or leagues like the IPL changing and so just wondered if it would be a possibility to have a similar system that Football Manager employs with the use of patches so upgrades and updates can be made post release.
