Nayeem Hasan of Bangladesh is a very promising 18 year old player who’s played 2 tests already and bagged a 5 wicket hall, and is also performing quite consistently in domestic cricket. But he doesn’t seem to exist in-game...
I'm currently in 2023, on the latest update of the database. There are a few improvements that need to be made.
AUSTRALIA
Will Pucovski needs to be improved. He's been in Australian Test squads and he's only 19. In the game, he averages ~40 and hasn't played an international game.
Slightly improved.
Jason Sangha's batting needs a buff. Some have called him 'The best talent since ponting'. He's better than his average in CC which is 33.
Small improvement, tough to gauge real world ability from that quote.
Hilton Cartwright's Batting needs a buff and his bowling needs a nerf. In game he operates as a genuine allrounder, whilst he's really more of a batsman who can trundle a bit. His in-game average is far too low at 32.
I'm going to leave him as is, both his batting and bowling ability seem to match up well with his pretty decent set of matches from real life.
Chris Green's Batting needs a nerf. He's a bowler who can smack them down the order, In-game he's averaging 31 and 34 respectively in FC and OD with 3 hundreds.
See Aussies Spinners Fan Page reply.
Marnus Labuschagne's batting needs a serious buff. He's demolishing County div 2 (1057 runs at 70 in 9 matches, 5 hundreds, 350 runs more than anyone else), and the Australian Selectors see a lot of potential in him. In-game he averages 31.30 and hasn't added to his international caps.
Agreed, very impressive in the Ashes. Significant improvement.
Michael Neser's batting needs a nerf, and his bowling needs a buff. He's a bowling Allrounder, yet he averages 31 with the bat in-game. He's on the periphery of a few Aussie squads, yet he's right down the list on averages at over 28.
His batting looks about right, so am leaving that, have improved his bowling.
Travis Dean's batting needs a slight buff. He's a decent enough batsman and should probably be averaging ~36, yet he only averages 30.
He sounds about right to me, his FC ave is 30, in the last 2 years, he hasn't averaged 30 with the bat in FC.
Jimmy Peirson's batting needs a slight buff. He's captained Queensland, and is touted for big things. But he avergaes less than 30 with 0 tons.
He's yet to score a ton in any format, I'll leave as is for now.
Jack Wildermuth's batting needs a slight buff. He's a geniune allrounder with big potential heading into the future, yet he only averages 26 with the bat.
Small improvement
Clive Rose needs a serious nerf. Love the bloke, but he's a but of a shocker IRL. In-game however, he's boasting stats that are good enough to get him a game in the test squad. With an average of 31 with the ball in FC cricket.
Seriously nerfed.
Ian Holland's Batting needs a Buff. He's a geniune allrounder, but he's only averaging 16 with the bat. His bowling is good though
Have improved his batting.
Alister McDermott needs a nerf. He's completley dropped out of domestic cricket in the past few years, yet in-game he's added about 100 more wickets at 24 to his stats.
Sounds like he's performed better than his numbers, but have nerfed him a bit more.
Lloyd Pope could do with a buff. He's touted for big things but he's way behind other spinners like Muirhead, Bowe, Rose and Andrews (all of whom need nerfs btw)
Slightly improved Pope, still early in his career.
Jackson coleman could do with a slight Nerf. He's nothing special, but the game's given him a 27 bowling average.
Sounds like he's over performing in game a bit. Will be leaving as is for now.
Nathan Lyon needs a buff. Despite being one of Australia's greatest ever spinners, he's barely added to his wickets in-game in 5 years.
His rating looks bang on for me.
Ashton Turner needs a bowling Nerf. These days he operates pretty much solely as a batsman, yet he's still picking up >1 wicket a match in-game.
Have nerfed his bowling.
IRELAND
Will Porterfield needs a slight nerf. He's no longer as important to the Irish lineup as the game would have you believe. These days he also plays Inter-Pro cricket rather than county, yet the game still has him playing county 2ndXI will into 2023.
Have tweaked his batting.
Andrew Balbirnie's Batting needs a major Buff. These days he's Irelands best batsman by a bit, but In-game he's a very mediocre batsman, struggling to get a game.
His batting looks about right to me and fits in with your description.
Lorcan Tucker's batting ability needs a slight buff, and his batting preferences are all wrong. He bats 5 in T20's, and he is incorrectly listed as 'Very defensive' even though he's one of the best agressive batsman in the country.
He predominantly batted at 7 in 20 Over last season. Batted 6 in match vs Scotland just gone. Early in his career, but have gone for Avg aggression for now. Have left his batting ability as is, as looks right to me.
Jack Tector Needs a slight buff, and should be in and around the Ireland squad, which he is not in-game
Have improved.
Nathan McGuire should be added to the game possibly. He's only 16 but he's already opened the batting for Ireland A.
We will be doing some work to pick up summer debutants.
Gareth Delany's bowling needs a major boost. In game his bowling is atrocious, yet in real life he's just been selected in the T20I squad against Zimbabwe, and his potential is massive.
Majorly improved, he looks a good talent!
Greg Thompson is an allrounder in game, although these days he just plays as a batsman. He needs a severe batting boost and a bowling nerf, as he's just been picked in the T20I squad yet in-game he averages 16 in T20s with the bat. And his temperament should be moved from defensive to agressive.
Improved his batting, left bowling ability as is, as already pretty poor. Changed to middle order and aggressive.
Joshua Little needs a boost, as in-game he's completely useless even though he's been in and around Ireland squads.
Improved.
Mark Adair's bowling needs a major boost, as he's played as a frontline seamer for Ireland in recent ODI's, yet in game his OD average is 44. His batting should be made Very Agressive.
Mousley has played a game this season so is in the next DB, if a player hasn't played a proper game yet or doesn't have a county contract, they won't be added.
PLAYER ADDITION
This may be slated for next DB update but if not...
An addition for Notts in the form of Liam Patterson-White who played in a few recent CC games. Did much better with the ball but considered to be more of an all-rounder, batted above all rounder classified
L. Wood and Z. Chappell.
Also batted 3 for the seconds and made a ton in recent days.
LHB SLA
Added in next DB update.
NEW GAME CPU SIGNING ISSUE
In a recent new game at the start of the season there were a flurry of signings that messed up a number of teams real team selections.
Warks signed Azharullah and Kent Boyd Rankin and immediately began picking them over players that should be playing.
In Warks case they ommited Jeetan (not injured) for him! For Kent Rankin opened the bowling.
Glam signed Porterfield who immediately began opening and Worcs signed Ravi Patel & Azeem Rafiq and both started some games each.
There were one or two overseas signings made that were not due to occur.
Why does this signing opportunity occur at the beginning of a new game to allow such things to occur?
Presumably other people have seen similar in new games?
OTHER
Stiaan Van Zyl listed as opener in FC but has batted 4 all season, this is meaning CPU is batting Salt at 6 all year.
Changed to opener in just 20 Over, middle order in FC/OD.

If the pitch conditions indicate very good wear the AI will pretty much dump any spinner that cannot bat in favour of playing four seamers.
Agreed. The AI will also be perfectly happy to prepare spinning wickets for itself and then proceed to not pick any specialist spinners...
On the subject of pre-season contracts in the first season, this has been around for a few years now and I've always been in two minds as to whether I like it or not - so I'd maybe like it to be made optional. Sometimes it's nice to be able to fill an obvious gaping hole in your initial squad, but it's also a nice challenge just seeing how much you can do with the hand you've been dealt. And seeing the AI sign up players they'd never go for in reality (and who then barely get a game anyway) always detracts from the realism a bit.
