THIRD TEST REVIEW + FOURTH TEST NEWS

What a dream that was. England won the toss and elected to bat first on what looked like another road. We bowled incredibly well early, holding them to just 65 runs in the morning session. The English put the odd partnership together but once Mitchell Starc hit Ben Stokes on the arm and fractured it, the English surrendered. Mitchell Johnson the main destroyer again taking 3/44, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc were incredibly tight and deserved more wickets than they got in the end. Things started off well with the bat before David Warner hit one straight back to James Anderson on just 20. The stellar form of Chris Rogers (62) and Steve Smith (50) continued while captain Michael Clarke was again dropped on his way to another fine hundred.

We were roughly 200 runs ahead going into the second innings, and with Ben Stokes ruled out there was English blood in the water. Adam Lyth fell in the first over and from there we just attacked flat out. Josh Hazlewood bowled the best he has for the series, Mitchell Johnson again bowled well and his fellow left armer Mitchell Starc feasted on the tail. An innings plus win away from home, the stuff dreams are made of.

Barring any drastic changes in terms of the pitch, we'll look to keep things the same heading into the next Test. Wouldn't even fathom making a change after that display.

FOURTH TEST REVIEW + FIFTH TEST NEWS

Not too bad, not too bad at all. We put the series beyond doubt here. David Warner made a nice 86 while Steve Smith continued his insane run with another 71. Captain Michael Clarke was again given a life, this time caught successfully off a no ball on his journey to 71. All up we made an okay total of 371 batting first. That, ladies and gents is why I persisted with Josh Hazlewood. 6/68 and just a dominant display with the ball. We restricted England to just 254 and I feel that was quite good.

This innings was all about the kid Mitchell Marsh. He's teased and teased and teased throughout the Test matches and finally put it all together for his first, brilliant 105. We didn't bowl well at all in the second innings. Kinda feel like we got carried away but in the end managed to put it back together. Joe Root ran out Adam Lyth on 99 with a very dumb yes call, then got himself out to Nathan Lyon in the very next over. Mitchell Starc picked up a couple of late wickets to improve his figures but overall, it wasn't a great performance.

The big news circulating around today is that the fifth Test will be the final one of Chris Rogers' career. It will be reviewed in full post-game, but he's been an incredible player and a perfect foil for the often hard-hitting David Warner.

FIFTH TEST REVIEW + SERIES REVIEWED

That was 100% my fault for blowing the call at the toss. I saw day one had a large amount of cloud cover and figured if we could get a roll on we could keep them on their knees from there. We didn't bowl well really, Gary Ballance was put down between 50 and 100 and to his credit he cashed in. With the willow, we pretty much collapsed from the get go. Wickets tumbled early and we lacked composure and an ability to hang in while the English bowlers were on top.

England managed to bowl us out 9 runs short of the follow on target, and given they'd barely worked up a sweat from bowling us out, they enforced the follow on. Our batting innings started better, but the middle-order of Michael Clarke, Adam Voges and Mitchell Marsh offered very little in the way of runs. Chasing next to nothing, England won the Test match in the afternoon session of day four.

Really unhappy with how we finished the series but overall I can't really complain. A few players will be hoping they can find some form before the next Test series but I think just about everyone contributed at some point throughout the series.

I can't go past Burns. Put up a Test hundred against the Windies and scored a FC hundred in one of the games in England. All is not lost for Marsh though, as I'm strongly considering putting him at 5 given Voges' poor fifth Test. We'll have to see who does what in the lead up.
