  • New Youth Player Generation System Explained

How do real regen players now work?

We now treat real and generated youth players (players without enough data to estimate their ability) the same with regards to ability generation. This means they will have different abilities from one save to the next. Some saves they might be good/very good, others they might be bad/very bad.

Ah bummer , Can we get an patch to make the regen develop more variable and dynamic this season?

BTW I just bought the game an hour ago , enjoying the season.

It is now much more dynamic than CC2021. In previous versions Real youth players weren't very good, now they can be.

Could you give a bit more detail on what you’d like to see? We have a range of progression types for youth players, so they will progress at different rates through their career.

I want to see fake regen develops at different rate , some starts with very bad initial ratings not worthy of even domestic team but in very few years they develop in to a world class players (Azhar Ali started as a crappy leg spinner, Imad Wasim ) , some regen having decent initial ratings and it seems they will become worldclass in few years , but instead they regress even more than their initial ratings (Adil Rashid , Moises Henriques ,Shaun Marsh, Irfan Pathan) , some players develop slowly and steadily and reach their peak at the age of 30 (TM Dilshan ,M.Hafeez , Wahab Riaz), some players reaching their peak at 24-26 but their peak period only lasting couple of years before their ultimate downfall (Flintoff ,A.Razzaq ,Saqlain Mushtaq) , some players starts bad and remain bad till 30 and then suddenly transforms in to a worldclass player for few years peak (Dirk Nannes , Vesbert Drakes, Muhammad Irfan) , There should be lots of dynamism in players development , i hope you get the idea.

would that explain why last year one of my star regen batsman suddenly dropped off a cliff? interesting to see how it goes this year

I experimented the batting specialism coaching as an OD Accumulator for my star fake regen bowler (who was no mug with the bat as well in debut season he was averaging more than 10 with the bat in all formats) and after applying that specialism , he went on to avg 47 with the bat in 10 OD games that season scoring 1 hundred and 3 50s , next season he averaged 42 with the bat , 2 tons and 2 50s , 3rd season absolute dud averaging 11 with the bat with the highest score of 36.

I guess specialism only works for few season if I am not wrong.

BTW he averages 16 in FC and 12 in T20 after 4 seasons and 36 in OD.

I guess you can't transform a bowler in to an allrounder.

definetly like how it adds more realism formwise to the game but at the same time canbe frustrating, noticed in my save more bowlers doing decent with the bat but maybe its just me

I was hyped to try the new youth generation system but the same old problems of all regens possessing only the same hand for different skills still persist in this iteration. It is sad because it was addressed three or four years back and by now should've been already fixed. Analogously, the TEST/FC match's 5th bowler issue is also there. The AI still chooses a low-skilled medium-pacer avoiding a genuine spinner or spin bowling allrounder. Moreover, the lineups are still off most of the time: James Anderson doesn't open the bowling, opening batters end up in the middle order, Test keepers don't bat in the lower middle order, etc. These issues turned me away from playing the 2021 version-- I only played for 13 hours. Now the same with the new game.
I didn't want to give a bad review on steam thus I posted this here. I know only a few people are working behind this game and there are many to enjoy the game as it is.

Can we have an improved youth allrounders in the game? Currently they are either batting heavy or bowling heavy allrounders for batting heavy AI doesn't even chose to bowl them in FC/Test cricket , Can we have balanced allrounders in the next patch which are good in both departments? 5th bowler in FC is a age long issue and in need to be fixed , this will also solve the problem of AI not choosing allrounders to bowl in FC

The opposite hands bug is frustrating, and something we will be looking at once mobile release is complete.

All-rounder balance has also been raised. We will be looking at these for a 2022 patch, but I can't promise what we will change yet or when.

I think this is a good thread for us to keep our regen thoughts in, so we can reference it.

Regarding the allrounder balance , we can have a hard code that every 5 years in game to produce ONE Genuine allrounder in any in game nations , this way it will not be overcrowded with great allrounders or disbalancing the game , but such allrounder should be equally good with the bat and bowl and should be able to bowl like a proper bowler in FC or Tests

Or you can tied the super genuine allrounder generation at the end of season of ODI Worldcup (i-e every 4 years) on which the game generates an allrounder and assigned it to any in game nation. This way in any one decade there could be max of 3 or 4 genuine allrounders playing for different nations which again not too many to disturb the balance of the game
