2nd ODI vs India
Team News: Finn replaces Kerrigan.
We won the toss and chose to bat.
Despite losing Bell early, Cook and Trott rose to the occasion staying calm and putting on a huge partnership of 189 together from just 28 overs! Cook made a great century while Trott made 84 from 81. Nobody else quite managed to push on from their starts and our run rate suffered ever so slightly as we lost some wickets towards the end. We still finished on a very good 278-6.
India were going well, after targeting Finn in the early stages. They were 76-2 from 15, with Tendulkar set on 41. Chris Woakes had an immediate impact, taking 2 wickets in his first over, leaving them 82-4 from 16. However, Rohit Sharma, who was to get an unbeaten 98, was still in. If it wasn't for him, India would've suffered a heavy loss, instead, they took a second win from two games. Our bowlers struggled to keep the runs down throughout the innings. India were 205-6 at one point, but Pathan supported Sharma to take them almost over the line. They did so with 2 balls to spare.
Batting Award: Alastair Cook. Such a shame we lost after a brilliant century.
Bowling Award: Chris Woakes. He was one of 3 bowlers to go over 6 an over. The difference was, he bowled in the powerplays and picked up 3 wickets while he was at it.
Series State: India lead 2-0 with 3 games remaining.
