The first match in the series was an embarrassment for the visitors.

NZ 1-0 up in the five match series.

The Windies hit an all time low in this one as they went 2-0 down in the series. What a hammering!

      • NZ v Windies (3rd ODI 2013)

Battling to stay alive in the series, the visitors put up a much better showing. The match could ultimately have gone either way, so it was a great relief when we pulled off victory with our final pair at the crease!

3-0 up with two to play. Can the Windies salvage some pride?

        • NZ v WINDIES (4th ODI 2013)

The visitors hit back with a vengeance in the fourth ODI, as their batsmen played with much more freedom to pummel our bowlers around the ground.
As we tried to keep the required run rate manageable, wickets fell and we were soon in a do or die situation. However, there was to be no miracle for us today.

          Now 3-1 in NZ's favour.

Stung by our reversal in the previous ODI, we started the new year off on a high by taking out the final match to take the series 4-1.

The first T20 was a real nailbiter and we only just held on for the win in a high scoring affair.

The visitors got their revenge in the final T20 match, played on a pitch that was less conducive to run scoring.

The T20 series squared at 1-1.

              • INDIA visit to NZ 2014

Could we repeat our good home form against the powerful Indians?
There would be three tests and five One-Dayers, before both sides would head over to the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh.

A solid showing in the 1st Test gave the NZ fans some cause for optimism.
Adam Milne put in an impressive performance, taking six second innings wickets.

                  • NZ v INDIA (2nd Test 2014)

Big hundreds from both Mukund and Menaria set the visitors up for a huge first innings lead.
Despite an unbeaten captain's knock of 103 from Ross Taylor, we then succumbed for 265 in our second innings.
India polished off the necessary runs for victory, although they lost three wickets in doing so.

India leads the series by 1-0 with one to play.

India again showed that they are a superior side to us, with another victory in the final test to wrap the series up 2-0.
However, the general impression seems to be that we're closing the gap.

Chasing a target of 245 in the opening match of the series, we were undone by a superb spell of bowling from Yadav, who finished with the sensational figures of 5/29!

                        • NZ v INDIA (2nd ODI 2014)

The pitch for the second ODI was a shocker, difficult to bat on initially and getting worse as the day wore on.
Batting first, the Indians struggled through to 190/9, but it would prove to be a more than useful score under the circumstances.
Jimmy Franklin held things together for us for a time with a fighting 55, but batting was just too difficult, and coupled with the superiority of the Indian bowling attack, we crashed to another defeat.

2-0 down with three to play. Could we turn things around?

Led by a superb 96no from captain, Ross Taylor, and another solid innings from Colin Munro, we were confident of pulling one back after reaching 266/3.
However, Mukund continued his great form with 92, while Sidana (92no) also played a classy innings as the visitors again proved to be too good for us.

India hold an unbeatable 3-0 lead now. Just pride for us to play for in the final two games.

Another competitive performance, but another loss.
De Boorder (84) and Rhodes (70) were the driving force in getting us through to 252/7, but Sidana broke NZ hearts with a swashbuckling 99no to guide India to their fourth straight victory in the series.

Having taken the test series previously by 2-0, India showed that they are a class above us in the shorter form of the game too, as they completed a 5-0 clean sweep of the ODIs.
Batting first, Mukund blasted a magnificent 129 as the visitors reached an imposing 282/5!
Our batsmen gave their best, but it was just too high a mountain for us to climb and we fell short at 267/7. Franklin again showed his value as an all-rounder with 78no, but none of our other batsmen were able to go past 50.
