The help for the coaching is pretty vague to say the least and really I think many of us would like some guidance on this.
For the batting coaching, if you have an aggressive player and work on defensive shots his aggression eventually becomes average. Whether that is an improvement or not is down to the way you play I guess but he's not actually gained ability in that scenario, just changed traits? So that makes me wonder does the same apply for off side and front foot etc, are you simply trading an extra ability to play outside off to improve the leg side rather than retaining the off side ability and improving your leg side game also? If so whether there is a gain is really difficult to work out, I've started just to leave the players with the traits they have and not noticed any tail off in the ability of regens.
Then there is the general technique training. I basically have guys on this until they turn 24. But of course there is no update on whether the player has improved and as they tend to improve with age anyway there really isn't any meaningful way to gauge whether this is actually doing anything? Say you train a player from 18 to 24 on their technique, what gain would they make on average and is there a limit to how much they improve thus meaning at some point a long the way they have maxed out their potential and the technique training is a waste of time from then on?
Any guidance on this would be really helpful as I'm starting to think it is a pointless exercise and training for optimal form from Day 1 wouldn't make any difference to their overall progression
