  • Different Wicketkeeper Icons

I've noticed one of my regens coming through in a save has, rather than the usual wicketkeeper icon with a ball in his gloves, a glove with a bat over the top of it. I can't find anything about it in the manual but I'm sure I've come across it before, as well. Does it mean that he's a part-time wicketkeeper? He has a batting average of over 50 in FC but seems pretty rubbish behind the stumps, and it's only now (when I've already selected my squad) I've noticed he has a low CpM figure in FC cricket, about 0.4 I think when most keepers are above 1.

Anyway, can anyone shed any light on this? Apologies if I've just missed it somewhere!

    Hi,

Yes, he's a part-time keeper when he has the icon with the bat over the top of the glove.

A role that's kind of fallen out of the game in recent years, really.

I had a query that what is the significance of a small green colour circle for a batsman, wk & all-rounder ?

The small green circle denotes a specialist opening bat for the selected format, In game terms it doesn't 'debuff' a player when facing a newer ball (first 15 or so overs)

@bastie_96 with the part time keeper I find them to be pretty poor keepers, but generally they are the best fielder in the side.
some examples in the 2015 database: M Trescothick- Somerset- also an opener in all forms, not used him as a keeper in game, good fielder though
C Dent - Glos - also an opener, I have tried him as a keeper in the shorter formats but he dropped several and let loads of byes through.
and there are others in game I haven't used; P Handscomb- Australia, U-Akmal - Packistan, R Wessels - Notts, C Cachopa - Sussex.

I think that you're referring to the opening batsman icon.

So it means that the batsman is an opener ?

Opener is always displayed as the little o in the corner of the symbol.

With the format specific openers the little o will only show if the relevant match type is shown.

For example, an opener in OD and 20 over will show as an opener when you have these formats selected in the filter, but will show as a middle order batsman for First Class.
