Pretty new to the CC games. Still not sure how player ability and player development is measured. Is it just on averages or is there actually a hidden value that changes as a player improves?

^The later , some players improves rapidly , some at a normal rate , some at a slower rate and some actually regress after their debut , just like real life. -
Keep on eye for players who are rapidly improving even if their initial years performance is crap, (you can see past 1 year , last year and current season performance to gauge that) as they are the ones who has the potential to become International star in a period of 5 years since initially available.Comment

Most Players who starts off with a bang usually regress in the later years from what I have noticed so far but there are exceptions as well. But the general rule is to avoid such players unless they keep on performing in the 3rd or 4th season.Comment
