CT Worcestershire v Northamptonshire
I think Northants are a bit under-rated on Cricket Captain, especially what with their success in the FLT20. We stuck with the same side that beat Gloucestershire. Again, we could win this on paper, but we'll see.
Losing the toss, we had to bowl.
Northants Innings: 10 overs in they sat on 30-3, Newton unbeaten on 21*. All was going swimmingly for us until Luke Evans came in at number 9. He smashed 46 off of 28 balls until he was trapped LBW by Andrew and they made 203 all-out.
Worc Innings: At the halfway stage we were just 78-2 with Mitchell (36) and Ali (34) recently falling. Samaraweera smashed an unbeaten 69 off 55 balls whilst Dowland hit 48 off 44 to fire us to victory by 6 wickets with almost 2 overs remaining!
Batting award: Samaraweera's innings won us the game to give us our 2nd 40/40 victory.
Bowling award: Ali has had to be the front-line spinner this season, this will definitely need addressing for next season.
