New Coach Joins Lancashire

World famous cricket coach Peter Moores has been sacked by Lancashire, The shock news has stunned the defending county champions. Lancashire won the County Championship last season, This was the first time for 77 years. Lancashire captain Glen Chapple spoke from old Trafford this morning saying, Its a major upset for the club, but a replacement coach has been found in time for the new season. The board of directors at Lancashire Cricket Club have announced Fudgecat, Will lead the club to future success. The directors at the club have said Fudgecat can bring more success to Old Trafford in the coming years, Fudgecat has announced the targets for the new season which are, First Class to be top end of the table. Challenge trophy the target is to make the semi- final, The T20 Cup is to make the top half of the group table.

Paul Horton Age 29, Nickname= Horts. Paul Horton turned himself into a versatile batsman, A valuable member of the Lancashire teams in all forms of the game, He also emerged as one of the best fielders in the county cricket. Batt/Bowls Right hand/Right arm meduim

Gary Keedy Age 37, Nickname= Keeds. Yorkshire born Gary Keedy is part of the furniture on this side of the pennines, A Lancashire player since 1995, very experienced left arm spinner. Batt/Bowls Left hand/ Left arm spinner.

Simon Kerrigan Age 22, Nickname= Keggsy. The left arm spinner from Preston, Only played four matches during most recent season, But his 24 wicket contribution as the secound spinner was vital to their success last season. Batt/Bowl Right hand/Left arm spinner.

Kyle Hogg Age 28, Nickname= Hoggy. The pace bowling all rounder took 50 County Championship wickets in just elven matches, For the Champions also chipping 365 runs. Batt/Bowl Left hand/Right arm fast- meduim.

Ajmal Shahzad Age 26, Nickname Ajy. Ajmal Shahzad arrived at Lancashire with an impressive cv, Having been part of England squad for the Ashes series down under. With a 50 over world cup campaign and a succesful world Twenty 20 campaign, He regulary bowls at 90 mph plus.

Tom Smith Age 26, Nickname=Smudger. All- Rounder capped off 2011 with another excellent summer, By entering the record books thanks to a stunning display in a Clydesdale bank 40 win over Notts, He lit up Trentbridge witha fabulous 104-ball 117, He became the first red rose player to score a hundred and take four wickets in the same four day match. Oliver Newby Age 27, Nickname=Newbs. This player wouldnt make the first team this season.

Theatre of Dreams Old Trafford Manchester,Its not just the football. Lancashire won the LV=County Championship 2011. They had to wait 77 years for the dream to come true. Lancashire play most of there home games at Old Trafford, They also play at Liverpool Cricket Club at Aigburth and Stanley Park in Blackpool. Old Trafford is used heavily throughout the summer and will host an Ashes test in 2013, With futher tests in 2014 the ground will hold 25,000 and a capacity 65,000 for concerts. The University match at Fenners was too easy for Lancashire, Paul Horton scored a fantastic 172 not out his partner, A Prince got a 103 runs the duo looked very good together, But the bowlers from Cambridge were out classed by miles. The bowling from Lancashires Anderson and Keedy looked fantastic, This match was a nice warm up for the coming season.

New signing A Brabin 22 made his first appearence for Lancashire with a 36 not out,The lad looked very sharpe and keen to do well in the team, Lancashire face Sussex in the County Championship at Old Trafford next.
