Essex County Cricket Club have announced that Fudgecat is the new coach of the Club, Essex who play in the County Championship Division 2 will be looking for top five place come end of the season. Fudgecat said it would take a few seasons before the club are ready for County Championship Division 1 Cricket. Fudgecat also said he will be looking for good youth players to re-build the team.

The County Ground Chelmsford, Where Essex play most of there games the ground has floodlights and holds 6,500 spectators, Essex also play at Lower Castle Park in Colchester and Garons Park in Southend.
