  • Experience Question

I've seen the in-game tip and various forum comments saying that players need ~15 FC matches before they're "experienced" and presumably able to play up to their full potential. Does the same thing apply to the shorter forms? In other words, does a guy need 15 one days and 15 t20 matches before he counts as experienced in those games? Another way of putting it would be to ask whether guys accumulate experience in the different forms independently, or if it all turns on the number of FC matches they play.

I've got some players who seem to be good short form specialists but who I would prefer not to play in FC matches, but I'll give them more games if that's what's needed to get them to their potential.

Here's another question re experience: say you play a county game & one of your new players is down the batting order & you end up declaring before he gets to bat, does this count as one of these 15 games he needs to improve ? Likewise if your newbie is a bowler & you don't actually use him in that role during the match - does that count ?

The official games tips are not clear on this. Logically just being on the field & being used only in a fielding capacity will not help you improve your batting/ bowling ability no ? It would be a good wheeze if just playing in a game would go into a new player's experience bank though, as they tend to be expensive when bowling & not much cop when batting at first.
