The whole new field system is awesome! I just spent the best part of an entire day playing around with it But as someone mentioned above to aid this amazing feature there really has be an option to change your own customised fields to be the default fields. It would give the game a lot more of a personalised feel and also ICC is a fairly drawn out game as it is so anything you can do to speed it up is a must, as having to change from the default settings 10x+ a match gets a touch frustrating.

I notice that when you change bowlers the computer will automatically pick a field, usually field #3 but I also noticed it sometimes also picks field #2 after a bowling change. I have not been able to work out why. I will play around a bit more and possibly give some more feedback. Thank you.

What we need to be able to do now is delete, or rename, the default user defined fields.
Ideally, when we open up the option to set a field in game we want to be able to pick from five of our own custom-named fields. It is difficult to identify between fast-mid1 and fast-mid2 etc then when you make a bowling change sla-1 and sla-2 when we could code the field names ourselves to make them much easier to navigate between in game.

The main issue is that you have a better chance of an lbw if you bowl around the wicket to right-handers, just as right handed-bowlers have a better shout changing against left-handers because the ball often pitches outside leg. Struck in line is an issue. I'm looking into this more to see if we can get the bowlers closer to the stumps, but it will not be in this patch.

Not Enough ODIs
Hi Chris,
I have been playing this game since 2001, and i must tell u I love this. i have played EA cricket 2001 to 2009 and also Codemasters cricket too, I gave up every cricket game for this. now i'm playing 2012 on my Iphone. grate game. however i would really love to see more ODIs specially for sub-continent countries. Currently i'm playing as Sri lanka after 2014 or so i get only 10 -15 ODI per year and same number of test matches. realistically Sri lanka would get less test and around 25 - 30 ODIs if you can change this that will be grate. Keep up the good work guyzzz..

As someone who has purchase every ICC full version except one(the original) I would like to take the time to commend the game creators for the progress made in this latest version. Here are some which I am particularly pleased with.
-Regenerated players max skill levels have been altered to be more realistic. No more batsman averaging 80+FC and bowlers averaging in the mid teens.
-Economy rates of bowlers are now extremely realistic. In past versions you could pick economical bowlers and they would never go for many. Now the economy rate of the bowler also depends on their skill and, unless they are very good, they will never consistently go for less than 5RPO in one-day games.
-Barring Pakistan, South Africa & Zimbabwe all countries are now producing quality regenerated allrounders. It is a relief to see the back of the days when all sides are playing five specialist bowlers in one-day games. Hopefully this issue will be further addressed in the next version. It also means that games are, on a whole, a lot more competive as there are no more crazy long tails.
-'Keepers can bat! Since the superman Sri Lankan 'keepers of ICC2 'keepers on the ICC series have never been better than average with the bat. Now they can be as good as the specialist batsman.
-The player development feature is also both an excellent and realistic one. Gone are the days where you pick up a youth player with a good 2nd team average and they start churning out runs from day 1. I picked up a batsman with a 2nd team average of ~78 and he had a stellar debut season averaging 73FC and over 100 in T20. Given how much batsman struggled and the way previous versions of ICC have gone I thought that this kid was going to be big. Not so though as he has struggled for consistency in international cricket and has slowed off on run scoring a lot. I have also had a allrounder who had a booming first two years and then once he started international cricket he struggled for consistency with the bat and begun to leak runs with the ball. It was not until he was about 30 when he was able to recapture the form of his youth. I have also had a couple of players who averaged well in 2nd team yet always seemed to struggle in FC cricket until they were in their late 20's when they begun to shine - but never to any great degree.Last edited by bryce87; 03-22-2012, 12:07 PM.
