  • Ideas for International Cricket Captain 2010

For me, The World Cricket Leagues is definitely top priority for international Cricket Captain 2010 but Childish Things could also add:

    1. Minor Counties: At the beginning of the season when you buy players, quite a few will be minor counties players which you can sign to help you win the county championship and other domestic competitions. The Minor Counties Championship and cup will not be playable.Anytime during the game you can look at minor counties squads, players and the league table even though it won't be playable.

    2. Australian State Cricket: All teams and competitions playable.

    3. Australian Grade Cricket: Like in real life, you can select your squad from Grade Cricket players in your region. You will be able to view all the squads and players.

    4. IPL: A lot of people want this, but for some reason, I don't think it will be added.

    5. Retired Hurt: Players who Retire Hurt can come back later in the innings if overcoming the injury is possible.

    6. Managerial Sackings: International and Domestic Sackings, add it and make the game realistic. You will also be allowed to resign from your job.

    7. Salaries and Contracts: You get paid for your job and can sign contracts, like players for certain amounts of time. You will be allowed to view your career earnings on a manager profile page.

    8. Nationality: Manager can select their nationality at the beginning of the game to gain job preference for or in your home country.

    9. Training: You will be able to train a bowler into an allrounder or a batsman into an allrounder by training on the player's opposite role (e.g. bowler training on batting) for a certain amount of time.

    10. Manager Interviews: A good interview put's the fan's and board's confidence up and a bad interview put's it down.

    11. Fans' and Board's Confidence: Shows you how close you are to losing your job, interviews and matches affect it.

    12. Stadiums: Name, capacity and sort of pitch (e.g. flat or dusty) is available for most teams. The Stadium Details will be available on the club profile page.

    13. International and Domestic U19 teams: This will help you train up your youngsters and give them experience, U19 Domestic Leagues and International Domestic Tournaments and International series' playable.

    14. International A Teams: So you can test players before putting them in the full national squad. International A teams just play friendlies organised bt the national coach.

    15. Domestic 2nd Teams: Good practise for players just back from injury. Domestic 2nd 11 leagues will be playable.

    16. Not Match Fit Status: If a player is just back from injury then he will not be playing at his best and will be classed as Not Match Fit to get him back to match fitness, play him in the 2nd 11 for a few games.

    17. Player Relationships: You can become friends or enemies with a player due to what you say about him in interviews or what you say to him. Player Relationships can seriously affect the player's performance in a good or bad way.

    18. Talking to Players: Can speak to player about his recent performances or about his attitude.

    19. Transfers: You will be allowed to sign a player for a specific competition or for a short period of time while your usual overseas player is away. Because in real life, cricket has no transfer windows, you can sign and release players all year round.

    20. Dual and Nationalities: Irish, Scottish, Jersey Cricket players, guernsey players and gibralatar players can be selected for England without having to gain dual nationality or wait 4 years. If a player lives in a country for a certain amount of time he gains a second nationality, if he has already played for his first nation he will have to wait 4 years since his last match to play for his adopted nation. Even if a player has lived in a nation for the required amount of time, players don't have to gain the nationality if they feel it won't benifit them (e.g. Onions doesn't want to gain south african nationality because he already plays for England). Players are allowed only 1 second nationality, to avoid too many second nationalities

    21. International Call-up Rejections: Players can reject international call-ups e.g. Onions gained South African Nationality so he can play domestic cricket there without being classed as an overseas player so rejects the international call-up because he wants to carry on playing for England.

    22. Backroom Staff: You can have a Bowling Coach, a Batting Coach and a physio, you can see your staff's profiles by going to your club's staff page.

23, Retirements: Players can become a Manager, a bowling coach, a batting coach or a physio after retirement.

That's all my ideas (the World Cricket League idea not included in the list is also 1 of my ideas). Quite a lot of them aren't must haves and some of them are and I don't expect a lot of them to be included.

So, which ideas out of these do you like?

You've forgotten the Kolpak problem... They can't be called up for International cricket. That's a problem.

I do agree with players gaining nationality aswell. It would make the game more lifelike. South African player comes to England to play county cricket as a Kolpak player at an early age. Gains citizenship and is then called up to play for England. Okay, this can't happen now but you know what mean.

Some changes I would like in icc2010 would be; 1)post match presentation ceremony
      2) IPL (well cricket coach 2009 introduced it so why cant icc 2010)
      3) World cup in every four years in career mode
      4) Champions league and trophy
      5) separate tri series mode
      6) If a player is injured during world cup can be replaced by another player from home
      7) gm's interviews , players comments and interviews
      8) celebrations after a wicket or century....an aggressive one
      9) more involvement of minor countries and a chance for them to gain a test status

1)Can't see the point, maybe as a shinier way of showing the match stats though.
2)Would be nice, as would other domestic leagues, not essential though.
3)ODI WCs... T20 WCs... ICC Championships... every couple of years, just as many as they have IRL.
4)Champions Trophy would be nice, you've won the T20, now show your the best in the world.
5)Can't see why this would be a problem in singleplayer, if you want to play Tri-Series with some mates online though, just organise it yourself.
        6)Squad replacements, yeah, sounds good.
7)Like press conferences in FM, maybe but it's not an area that needs to be looked at in particular.
8)In general, more animations are always nice, like bowling actions and different shots. But that's merely a visual change.
9)Maybe playing a few games against minor countries would be nice, as would more tour games, there's just not enough. As far as gaining Test status, there's no sign of that IRL so I can't see it happening in game.

Sounds too much like Fifa Manager.
