If you haven't got decent bowlers you can't play them! And you have to wait a whole season to stand a chance of getting any - if you're lucky and you can afford them, which you probably can't as you've spent a season getting thrashed - that's if you've put up with it for that long!
As for "get better field settings" I'd really like someone in the game to say whether it's a significant disadvantage to play with the default settings - because if it is, there should at least be some guidance for new players as to how to improve them, since lots of potential players of the game who like cricket wouldn't necessarily know how to begin to set a field for different types of bowler and situation - I've been watching Test and County cricket since before most of you were born and I don't consider myself an expert on this aspect of the game.
