I think you have made a huge mistake chucking Hayden as he is absoloubtly fantastic in all forms of the game. Drop Katich down the order and chuck Clarke or one of the others.

Maybe but whenever I've used Katich as an opener he's been superb making scores every game (even though he doesn't open) and origionally I was going to use Katich and Jaques but Jaques played so well that he deserved to stay in the side thoughts now turn to discovering a top quality spinner probably just use Hauritz to begin with but hopefully a spinner will develop over the next couple of domestic seasons

Australia vs West Indies 1st ODI

Australia unsurprisingly name an unchanged side to face the West Indies in the first ODI with Shaun Marsh who has looked in great form on this tour making his debut and Ben Hilfenaus playing only his second ODI.

The West Indies name a line up with only one change from the test series with the expensive Tino Best being dropped for the better batting of Dwayne Smith whose lower order hitting will bolster the West Indies.

Australia vs West Indies 1st ODI

Australia were yet again unable to capitalize on a good start after the tour game and so posted a reasonable 327-7 after their 50 overs again Marsh and Watson set the platform for a good total but both fell with out making a telling contribution Ponting them made a 40 in his usual manner and then Michael Clarke looked like pushing Australia on scoring 46 off 42 balls but he fell and Australia were unable to get the innings going again after that Dwayne Smith was the pick of the bowlers taking 3-53 in his 10 overs and Darren Sammy restricted the Australians well going at only 3.2 an over.
In reply the West Indies started tentatively then Johnson got one to just move away from Gayle and took the edge through to Haddin, the arrival of Chanderpaul at the crease gave the West Indies innings much needed impetus and it soon became clear his knock would be vital to the chase. He found the support he needed in Ramnaresh Sarwan who made 56 runs in the 106 partnership they shared and this put the West Indies on top in this game, and with 10 overs to go the West Indies were advancing serenely towards the target needing just 42 for victory and they made it with 11 balls to spare.

            Australia-237-7
            S.Watson-52 M.Clarke-46
            Dwayne Smith 3-53

            West Indies-238-3
            S Chanderpaul-102 R.Sarwan-56
            N.Bracken 2-49

Australia began well with Lee taking 2 wickets though he was expensive the West Indies innings being anchored by a surprisingly subdued Chris Gayle who went LBW to Lee for 43 to put Australia firmly on top in the game and throughout the innings Australia took wickets at regular intervals to restrict the West Indies to 199-9. Australia were hoping to make short work of the small total posted. The West Indies started well after Watson had begun to attack he was removed for 20 and they quickly accounted for the in form Marsh. Then followed a period of consolidation with Ponting and Clarke batting well till Ponting holed out to long off for 16. Throughout the innings Australia looked to be keeping up with the run rate and the West Indies could tell they needed a wicket to break the partnership of Clarke and Hussey, but Clarke took the attack to them going to 50 off 47 balls and the run rate was starting to go down rapidly. Smith got the much needed wicket of Clarke for 69 and the West indies sniffed a half chance but the task was now too great and as the run rate dropped below 3 an over Australia marched on to win in 41 overs losing only the wicket of White for 20.

                West Indies-199-9
                Gayle-43 Sarwan-35
                Lee 4-44 Bracken 3-37

                Australia-200-5
                Clarke-69 Hussey-52no
                Sammy 2-19 Bravo 2-43

Australia vs West Indies 3rd ODI

Honors seemed even at the start of the Australian innings with the Australian's reaching a tentative 90-4 then a huge 85 run partnership between Ponting (90) and Cameron White (74) set the Australian innings in motion and the impetus that gave the innings was carried on and Haddin (41) and White had a 76 run partnership aand this helped propel them to 273-7. Mohammed bowled well for the West Indies taking 3-45 and Sammy once again bowled tight giving away only 25 runs.
The West Indies reply startded poorly with Johnson snaring both openers cheaply but as he has all series Chanderpaul was again the focal point of the innings but he only found support from Sarwan and so his 84 was a lone hand in their total of 193 and then the last two batsmen were run out to give Australia victory by 80 runs

                  Australia-273-7
                  Ponting-90 White-74
                  Mohammed 3-45 Emrit 2-57

                  West Indies-193 all out
                  Chanderpaul-84 Sarwan 34
                  Johnson 2-26 Bracken 2-36

Australia name an unchanged team for the 4th game in a row they go into this game with the momentum firmly in their favor and only need to win one of the last two games. again Johnson will be the key man and has been in electric form on this tour.
The West indies have made just one change with Runako Morton coming in for Devon Smith in an attempt to give them a better start.

The West Indies began this game in a much better fashion with Sammy reducing Australia to 18-3 after Australia elected to bat, but Ponting managed to muster a recovery as he and Hussey put on a 50 run partnership but Hussey fell for 13 and the West Indies put themselves firmly on top removing White for 19 then a few overs later Haddin was removed for 10 yet Ponting continued playing his lone hand and Johnson made 36 in a 63 run partnership with him as Australia endeavored to improve their total to something more respectable before Ponting was run out for a sublime 84 Johnson went for 47 as Australia made only 200-9 Sammy being the main destroyer taking 4-35.
Morton and Gayle made a steady start Morton proving especially impressive and when Gayle fell for 15 Chanderpaul gave the West Indies innings much needed impetus to take the run rate down to 3.4 an over before Chanderpaul fell for 40 off 42 balls, but Morton continued and posted his half century and gradually guided the West Indies to the target and he brought up a supeb hundred with Sarwan contributing 35 as they went through to a comfortable victory in 34.2 overs.

                      Australia 200-9
                      Ponting-84 Johnson-47
                      Sammy 4-35 Mohammed 3-33

                      West Indies-201-2
                      Morton-103no Chanderpaul-40

Australia go into the series decider with one change Matthew Hayden coming in for the out of sorts Hussey. they will be hoping for a much improved batting performance to win the series.
The West Indies make a surprising change bringing Jerome Taylor in for Dave Mohammed.

Australia vs West Indies 5th ODI

Choosing to bat the West Indies finally started well in this innings with Gayle and Morton posting an opening stand of 69 before Gayle fell for his quickfire 52. The Australia change bowlers then put the squeeze on the West Indies both picking up a wicket but then Lee and Watson allowed the West Indians to increase the scoring rate again with Chanderpaul and Richards putting on 94 and giving West Indies the chance to push on tor a total of 300 but Johnson nipped out Chanderpaul to finish with 2-43 but then a lower order flurry from Bravo and Ramdin helped push the West Indies to 260 for 9 with Hilfenhaus and Bracken taking 3 wickets each to help limit the West Indies.
The decision to bring back Hayden was immediately vindicated with 3him hitting 13 off the first over, and Ponting also played a nice innings but again lacked support as he made 74 and Hayden fell for 51 but late in the day Brad Haddin came to the fore striking 71 off 60 balls to take Australia to the cusp of victory but in the last over with only one run needed for vicory Hilfenhaus was bowled by Bravo and the match ended as a tie which in all is a fair reflection of the way the series panned out though Australia will be disappointed with the final result.

                          West Indies 260-9
                          Chanderpaul-60 Gayle-52
                          Bracken 3-49 Hilfenhaus 3-55 Johnson 2-43

                          Australia-260 all out
                          Ponting-74 Haddin-71no
                          Emrit 3-44 Bravo 2-51

From the Series against the West Indies Mitchell Johnson and Simon Katich shared the Man of the series award for the test's and in the ODI's it goes to Ricky Ponting other notable performances were put in by Peter Siddle in his only test and the suberb series had by Jaques to push himself above Hayden in the test opening slot alongside Katich.
