  • ATG T20 Squads

Three ATG Championships have been held over the last few years, Test, ODI and Decade. In a couple of weeks, a T20 ATG Championship will be held. To make this a bit more interesting, squads will be exclusively made from players who have never played a single T20I in their careers. Below is what I believe to be each nation's best T20 teams. Most players are simply the best ODI players available while a few others such as D Hookes or B Richards would have been close to T20 specialists had they played in today's era. I've done my best to make sure each nation has at least a couple of allrounders, spin options and specialist openers.

As usual, there are likely some obvious choices I missed or maybe there are some hidden gems that need a turn in the spotlight. Please suggest any changes you think should be made.

I skipped Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and other nations as I believe they would not have the depth to make up an XI from players who finished their careers almost 20 years ago. If you believe those teams should be represented (even as a mixed team) please make a couple of suggestions to help me out.

Colin Milburn should be in the England Squad as an opener. He was crippled in a car crash in 1969 (if memory is correct). But in the 68-69 Australian season playing for WA made 243 in less than 4 hours (about 3 1/2 I think) the last 180 in 90 minutes. I can just remember him hitting a ball onto the Adelaide Scoreboard Bar.

"He hit the ball with the strength of a lumberjack and he had the courage of a lion, but he was no Neanderthal clubber"
Perfect addition to the team. Does Milburn in for Gooch sound right?

Keith Miller will also be added to the Australian squad, just not sure whether he replaces Lindwall or McDermott.
