  • Bowling Technique Training Question

    Hi Cricket Captains,

Question: When applying bowling technique training, I’m wondering if Aggressive bowling and Defensive bowling are mutually exclusive or exist on a scale.

i.e. Should I expect that applying aggressive bowling training will detract from their defensive capability? Presumably their strike rate reduces but RPO may increase. Or, once a bowler has reached their limit for aggressive bowling, I can then train them on defensive bowling so that they receive benefits from both without one cancelling out the other.

    hope this makes sense.

    Nobody knows.

This question has been asked since 2008 - as of today we still don't have a clue what technique training actually does or even if there is any real benefit to it.
