Irish players in the county game

Hi all,

Does anyone know whether Irish players are set to be classified as overseas players for the English county game at the same time this is due to kick in in real life (i.e. end of the 2019 season)? If not, could it be implemented? (Though I'm aware the developers have got plenty on their plate as it is...)

Will this apply to all Irish players, will some have dual citizenship?

It seems to be everyone with a (central?) Ireland contract: https://www.thecricketer.com/Topics/...ty_future.html. However, the issue is complicated by the circumstances of e.g. Paul Stirling, who is from Northern Ireland: https://www.cricketeurope.com/DATABA...2/000222.shtml.

So I suppose that, until the issue is resolved, there's no way of even attempting to reflect it accurately in the game as nobody will know what the rule is supposed to be... Maybe all the other Ireland players could kick in as overseas after season 1 and Paul Stirling be made a Kolpak player in game terms (after all, the "(K)" in the game also covers those with a British/EU passport). Obviously all English-based Ireland players would probably need to be on one-year contracts only - but then they probably are in real life and in-game contracts make no claim to be realistic anyway.
