1st Inngs - WI
Chase failed this time but Brathwaite and Bravo hit centuries as we post 427. Bumrah was the most successful for the Indians with 4 wkts.
1st Inngs - Ind
The opening partnership was a major pain in the ass with Dhawan smashing a double century and Vijay hitting his own century with useful contributions in the middle order from Kohli and Pujara meant they declared at 512 after rain ate away almost 2 hrs of play. Jerome Taylor was the most successful for us with 4 wickets.
2nd Inngs - WI
And our second innings horror-show continued as we capitulated for just 186 with nobody crossing 50. Bumrah added a further 4 wickets to his name.

An easy victory for the no.1 Ranked Test team as Dhawan ensured they would win with 10 wickets in hand.

We need lot of work in the Test team if we are to come anywhere close to the top teams. In the last 5 home tests, we have won just one and lost 4.
Anyways, here are the statistics for the season so far:
Top 5 Batsman
Chase has been by and far our best batsman. We need to build up the batting order around him.
Top 5 Bowlers
We next take on Bangladesh in the 3 match ODI series.

2nd Test: WI vs BAN
BAN won the toss and they went into bat first.
1st Innings - BAN
A masterclass from Tamim Iqbal who hit his first test double ton and a fighting 93 from Nurul Hasan down the order meant Bangladesh posted 435. Kemar Roach continued his good form from the last test picking up another 5 wicket haul and finishing with 6/96.
1st Innings - WI
The two in-form batsman, Chase and Lewis continued to make runs while the new man Edwards made another half century but a sensational collapse triggered by the spectacular Taijul Islam who bettered his 1st innings haul with 8/123 meant we got wrapped up on 310.
2nd Innings - BAN
Nazmul Hossain and Mahmudullah combined to take Bangladesh past 250 and Miller's 5 wicket haul meant they posted 276 setting a target of 401.
2nd Innings - WI
Pathetic, just pathetic. We got bundled out for our lowest score against Bangladesh, only 98. The good old Shakib Al Hasan tightened the screws with yet another 5 wicket haul.
Bangladesh wins the test by 303 runs.
Bangladesh wins the series 2-0 and Tamim Iqbal is declared MOM.

1st Test: WI vs BAN
We won the toss and chose to bat
1st Innings - WI
Blackwood and Powell, the two changes that we did from the Sri Lanka series did not fetch us the returns that we were expecting as we folded in for a mere 206. Chase carried his form from the last series with a very slow 82 with Rubel Hossein breaking our back with only his 2nd ever 5 wicket haul in tests. He was ably supported by the young Chinaman bowler Taijul Islam who picked 4 including the important wickets of Brathwaite and Chase.
1st Innings - BAN
Tamim Iqbal at the top and later on, Mominul Haque and Mahmudullah at the lower order powered Bangladesh to 423. Bishoo finally came good as he picked up 6 wickets for 97 runs.
2nd Innings - WI
We needed to erase the massive lead of Bangladesh and Brathwaite, Lewis and the in-form Chase along with Shai Hope gave useful contributions but it was still not enough as an inspired performance by Taijul Islam who build on his first innings haul by taking 7 wickets and created history for the best bowling figures by a Bangladeshi against West Indies in a test match. He finished with 11/218 in the match.
2nd Innings - BAN
We almost made match of these with Kemar Roach leading away with 5/86 but the target was too low so we lost.
Bangladesh leads 1-0 with Taijul Islam declared the MOM

3rd Test: WI vs SL
We elected to bat first again after winning the toss.
1st Innings - WI
A pathetic performance with only Braithwaite and Lewis going past 50 as we get wrapped up for just 232.
Perera picked up another 3 wickets while Herath picked 4.
1st Innings - SL
Dhananjaya de Silva who was brought in place of the injured Dickwella hit his 5th Test century and Chandimal continued his crackling form with a 95 as they post a big score of 446.
Gabriel and Bishoo picks up 4 wickets apiece.
2nd Innings - WI
A record 4th wicket partnership of 177 vs Sri Lanka and the highest at Antigua between Roston Chase and Shai Hope was still not enough as Lakmal's only 2nd ever 5 wicket haul in tests restricted us to 258 which meant Lankans needed only 56 runs to win.
2nd Innings - SL
Sri Lanka won by 9 wickets
Sri Lanka win series 2-1 with Suranga Lakmal declared the MOMLast edited by kanegan; 05-06-2019, 07:20 PM.

Dilruwan Perera continued his good form taking another 5 wicket haul and finished with 5/96.

Kemar Roach took 4 wickets and the two spinners, Chase and Miller took couple of wickets each as we restrict Sri Lanka to 274 despite Dickwella and Chandimal's heroics for the second consecutive test.
2nd Innings - WI
We needed to set a big target and Braithwaite gave the impetus that our innings needed with his 7th test century and Chase contributed in the lower order with a 81 as we finished at 258 to set a target for 318.
Lakmal and Herath took 4 wickets apiece to star for Sri Lanka.
