  • Technique Traing

A quick question regarding technique training.

Once a player has improved a certain aspect of their batting/bowling technique, can they further improve the same area?

The way I'm trying to improve the technique of my younger bowlers is:-

    Fast & Medium/Fast - Aggressive
    Fast/Medium & Medium - Defensive
    Spinners - Aggressive

I am yet to see it.

It also appears to be somewhat randomly generated when someone improves, rather than a set amount of days being trained.
Having said that inexperienced players seem to respond to technique training better than older players.

The way I'm looking at it I'm only going to work on the technique of players 23 and under.

The rule of thumb (I think it was in an old manual) is to use general technique training on players under 25, I have always followed this. But the other technique training such as Back Foot, aggression, etc I use on players over 25.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that.

My Essex side has a ton of players under 23, all of my coaching sessions are used on them.
