Advice on Captaincy

Hey guys. Loving the game as always (actually helped me through a very difficult time of being sick... and not being able to attend actual cricket)

One question for any experienced players. Once the game gets beyond recognised players retiring how do we all choose our captains? Is it simply a case of trial and error with the most experienced? Or do we find that it doesn't matter? It might be in my head but i find a few players drastically under perform when selected as captains. Is there any advice on what stats to look for when selecting a captain? Or is there a way to see who has been captain for their club/country and try and snap them up?

Good question. I've often wondered whether there is anything that results from the captaincy, or whether it is just for show. For me, I tend to just go for the most experienced player I have.
