Which techniques are people's favourite? Or most effective when training young players?

I tend to just go with the generic "general" training, or accuracy for bowlers, but I see that some people like to use training to iron the rough edges off their players - ie turn a spin specialist who is an opening batsman into a pace preference instead.

I've never seen an improvement message for 'general' training for either batsmen or bowlers (even after doing it for multiple seasons) so have abandonned that - I don't know if players are still improving a bit without the message? I go for aggressive bowling for FC bowlers and defensive for LO bowlers then move to accuracy if that is successful. I try to get 1-3 batsmen have a preference against pace and be on the defensive side and middle order batsmen to prefer spin and be aggressive. It's hard to gauge whether it makes any difference. I remember having 5 improvement messages for Santner last year (three for his bowling and two for batting) but didn't notice any difference in his play. An alternative is to just keep young players in form as much as possible with practice so that you can play them in the first team and they improve with experience.

Young players are said to benefit from technique coaching and batting practice is good for form.... I tend to use technique training for youngsters in domestic saves and don't really bother in international saves to be honest

The training should really be clarified, no idea why general technique training doesn't pop up showing any improvements. It would be nice if there was some kind of assistant coach who would indicate whether a player had likely reached his potential etc. The coaching format is very stale with the 50k budgets that must have been in place for 20 years. Just any kind of tweak would be a nice change and add to the game. I usually take my best prospects on the winter tours and technique train them to death then give them the whole next season on technique and then judge them the following season but it's very hard to know if they've made any improvements.
