  • What is your T20 team composition?

    Currently mine is the following;

    Batsman
    Batsman
    Batsman
    Batsman
    Batsman
    Batting All rounder
    Wicket Keeper
    Bowling All rounder
    Bowling all rounder
    Bowler
    Bowler

But still struggling to win T20I series, before this I used to go with 3 Bowling all rounders, but that didn't work as well. I seem to draw T20I series, but rarely win it, which is quite disappointing for me. Any tips?

    Whats ur composition?

It varies for me - depending on what talent I have available. But I would usually have at least one more specialist bowler, and another all rounder. My strategy really relies on keeping my opponents to a low score - I'm hopeless at chasing anything over about 140.

Try playing ball by ball when you bat. If you are chasing 200+ you will probably need to start on 7 bars and then go up to 8, but if you are chasing around 180, you can have a target run rate for each over. If you have just hit a couple of boundaries at the beginning of the over, and the bowler is pretty good, drop down to 5 bars for the rest of the over.

I find that once a batsmen is in for a few overs, I can leave him on 7 bars. I try and allow new batsmen to follow this ball by ball aggression variety plan, in order to limit the number of high risk deliveries each over. I aim to not have to chase more than 50 in the last 5 overs with wickets in hand.

Of course it doesn't always work! T20s are quite erratic by nature.

For me it is the following:
        - Best 6 batsmen based on average (In most instances there is a keeper in there)
        - Allrounder (Best economy rate)
        - Best 4 bowlers based on economy rates.

Your nr. 8 batsmen and lowere rarely faces more than 10 or so balls. What I have found is that if they need to bat more, then oddes of winning is very, very low. I am going at about 55-60% win ratio
