I’ve decided to do an Essex career and my aim will be to eventually win the County Championship. With the current explosive batsmen in my side one day success could be possible.
Before I start, here are my thoughts on the squad:
Positives:
• Very strong batting line up
• Lots of all rounders
• Some very good young bowlers eg Topley and Mills
Negatives:
• Key players taken away at different points of the season due to IPL and international matches
• Weak bowling attack
• Not much depth
For the contracts, I decided to boost my funds by lowering Youth Team and Physio to the bare minimum, however I increased the coaching to full investment.
Firstly, I decided to buy a middle order batsmen called Rodgers who has an average of 53.9 and hopefully should play some games this season.
Then, I brought a LS called Chester who averages 25.1 with the ball and will slot in the team if Panesar is either injured or not in form.
I also acquired a RMF bowler called Batson who averages 25.3 with the ball as well as a RFM bowler called Osmond who averages 27.8 with the ball.
Finally, I got Narine as a reserve overseas player.
