  • Lancashire game

Hi all this is my first ever story and I'm playing as my local county Lancashire. I believe I have a strong squad including England regulars James Anderson and Joss Buttler, also ex England Kabir Ali and Freddie Flintoff.
    The Squad in full
    Batsmen
    Usman Khawaja ( Overseas)
    Paul Horton
    Luis Reece
    Karl Brown
    Andrea Agathangalou
    Steven Croft
    Liam Livingstone

    Wicket Keepers
    Jos Buttler
    Gary Park (Only Signing)
    Alan Davies
    All Rounders
    Tom Smith
    Luke Proctor
    Andrew Flintoff (T20 Only)
    Arron Lilley (Off Spin)
    Wayne White
    Jordan Clark
    Bowlers
    Kyle Hogg
    Glen Chapple(Captain)
    Kyle Jarvis
    Kabir Ali
    Tom Bailey
    Gavin Griffiths
    Oliver Newby
    Junaid Khan (T20 Only overseas)
    Spinners
    Simon Kerrigan
    Stephen Parry
    Aims for the season
County Championship Last Won 2011: My main aim is to stay up in this tough division but a few good wins at the start whilst I have Anderson may change things. Would be happy with a Mid-table finish
T20 Blast Never Won: With the power hitting of Flintoff, Croft and Buttler I believe this is my best chance of silverware this season. Aiming to at least get to the quarter finals.
One Day trophy: As we are in the easier group qualification should be simple. Don't think we will win it but can at least get the the semi finals.
As this is my 1st story will be needing a bit of help on layout ect.
    Thanks James

1st Game Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge County Championship
Notts have prepared a seamers pitch and play 5 seamers in Franks, Siddle, Geemal Hussain, Adams and Fletcher. We go in with a 5 Lancs win the toss and Bat as the pitch looks like the bounce will become more uneven as the day goes on,
      Teams
      Lancs
      Notts
      Horton
      Hales
      Reece
      Jaques
      Khawaja
      Mullaney
      Croft
      Wessels
      Prince
      Lumb
      Buttler
      Read
      Smith
      Franks
      Hogg
      Adams
      Chapple
      Siddle
      Kerrigan
      Fletcher
      Anderson
      Hussain
Lancs win the toss and bat on a pitch with uneven bounce. Im hoping we can bat well 1st innings eventhough it will be tough going with cloud cover. The pitch will be harder to bat on as the game goes on

Our 1st innings was a bit of a shambles with us only making 204. Smith and Reece scored 36 and 34 respectively assisted by a Khawaja 28. The Notts bowlers bowled well and Aussie test man Siddle getting 4 wickets and Hussain, Fletcher and Adams getting two each. Notts 1st innings Notts started well reaching 100 with only 1 wicket down. Both Wessels and Hales got 50's and they ended up passing our score. Anderson, Hogg and Chapple all got 3 wickets and with a lower order collapse from Notts they only reached 238. With a deficit of 24 we needed a good batting performance and with the quick wickets of Reece and Khawaja. We ended up reaching 195-9 but a brilliant 65 run partnership between Kerrigan and Anderson gave us a chance. Fletcher did well for Notts and got 4 wickets. Final innings Notts needing 227 to win. They had another good start with the brilliant Hales getting a half centuary on this awful pitch. However Anderson and Chapple both got 3 wickets again and Hogg,Smith and Kerrigan all picking up 1 meant we won by 52 runs and got 20 points compared to Notts 3

Next game is Warwickshire at home. We are preparing a seaming pitch this season to play to our strengths.

We ended up drawing with Warwickshire. Warwickshire won the toss but 2 quick Jimmy wickets had them 24-2. With a great spell from Smith and Anderson in tandem we had them 74-5.However the tail wagged and Troughton and Woakes hit 50's and Barker a 43's as they finished on 274ao. All bowlers chipped in with wickets with Anderson and Smith the picks. In our 1st innings we started slowly and Khawaja and Buttler both got out to Ian Bell, and collapesed to 111-7. However a 83 run partnership between Hogg and Chapple saw us end up on 237. Warwickshire batted well in their 2nd innings and reached 226ao with impressive half centuarys by Ambrose and Evans on a very tricky pitch. Hogg the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets. We batted for the draw and we ended up 38 short of the target to win. Prince got 60 and Khawaja showed why he was an Aussie test match player with a 95 on that pitch. A good result against a good side and a game against Northats which we Should win

We have Northants away now on a spinning wicket. However I Choose to go in with only 1 spinner and Croft will bowl alot this match. However Northants don't pick a spinner and go in with a 4 man pace attack in Hall, Willey,Azahrullah and Chambers. We lost the toss and unsuprisingly was sent to field. Our bowlers bowled unbelieveably well first innings and restricted them to 198ao with Jimmy, Kerrigan, Hogg,Chapple and Smith all picking up wickets. The fact that we have so many threats with the ball is encouraging. Centuarys from Prince, Buttler and a 143 from Croft meant we breezed past their total and got 547. Northants showed why they are relegation certs and that they don't have a proper spinner on a spinning pitch. Northants openers were brilliant and put on a 158 partnership to give them hopes on s spinning pitch. Once we got one though we had them beat with Anderson getting 5 and Kerrigan getting 4 on a ever declining pitch. They ended up on 329ao.

                      Sussex at Old Trafford Teams
We won the toss and batted. Only change due to injury Kabir in for Hogg. Great win after Sussex just managed to pass the follow on. Only gave ourselves 2 and a quarter sessions to win the game and with an injury to Kabir meant that we bowled them out with just 4 bowlers. Chapple, Anderson and Kerrigan were all outstanding. Off to Lords next then the T20 Blast starts

Down to Lords now 2nd in the table playing bottom of the table Middlesex. Make one change to the team due to another injury. Jordan Clark an T20 specialist comes in for his County Championship debut to replace Ali. The toss looks important as this Lord pitch will deteriorate quickly. Whoever bats first will probably win.
A tough loss but thought it would happen after the toss. Murtagh and Simpson were brilliant 1st innings and took the game away from us. Still in a good position to challange and a change of format now next game Notts at Trent Bridge in the T20
