Gone for Gloucs this year, some great young players like Dent, Roderick, Miles and Norwell and an excellent all rounder in Gidman.
Proudly supporting Nottingham Forest and Nottinghamshire CCC.

Good effort! You've done well to build that squad within the financial constraints.

I had a look through the counties and is it me or are there less all rounders in the game this year?
Maybe "downgraded" to solely bowlers or batsmen perhaps

          Hah! Good win yesterday.

DVDDD - We have been trying over the last couple of years to apply a stricter general rule to all-rounders, this can be harder to apply to younger players who are still ironing out numbers. If you have suggestions, please put them in the Database thread and I will analyse.

FC was the easiest to crack but 20/20 and one day took a while .... If you're successful in 20/20 and FC then the financial rewards enable some decent signings year on year - getting to the knockouts of the one day adds the cherry really.

A bad season means that maybe you can't re-sign an out and out 20/20 specialist or maybe only one but that's the risk. Some seasons I just went with my lone overseas player with no additional 20/20 help.

Long term contracts are my preference as you avoid someone having an amazing season and wanting a huge payrise.

Don't think I've ever paid more then £25-£35K for a 20/20 player - I just go for the older guys .... Afridi, Moran, North, White etc - all guys who can bat and bowl a few when called upon

              Cheers

It was more just a visual thing but will see if I can add any specific examples to the database thread

Good point for us (Charlton) yesterday
And just think what would have happened if Harriott had scored that open goal, still more than most of us expected I'm sure

We looked like we were hanging on for a point at the end so it would have been great to be 2 nil up but not sure how we'd have dealt with the pressure ... defended deep like we always do!

It April 2017 in the save and I haven't actually played a game yet.
I brought in Hales,Carberry, Lees and Miller after being forced at times the previous season to play all 3 of my batting keepers when Root, Ballance and Bairstow were called up for England.
Added Ten Doeschate for the limited over games.

Think my season starts with about 10 of them playing IPL

Dare i say i'm actually quite optimistic this season (for not getting relegated anyway) especially if we get this Delort in as well

And now Ebanks-Blake too - Brings back horrible memories Pardew buying Andy Gray for the same price he went for when he fired Wolves to promotion

If we wanted an injury prone striker we would have re-signed Danny Haynes!!!

I started with Northants in the end. Decent bowling attack, although Andrew Hall broke his arm when batting and is out for 10 weeks, so that significantly weakens the side. Batting is struggling and the keepers aren't very good with the bat.

Mind you, only played 4 FC games. The Hall injury is hooge.
