  • Ireland Career

In 2018, Ireland gained full ICC member status, meaning they could compete in Test matches. They are yet to have one a single test, and are one of the weaker teams across all formats of the game.

The goal of this save is to get Ireland to world number one in the world, and to be competitive against some better teams, such as India and Australia.

    Season 1 Goals:

    Win a series
Have a player get into the top 10 rankings for either Batting or Bowling in any format.
Get into the Super 12 stage of the 20 over World Cup
Win the ODI Tournament between us, South Africa and Sri Lanka
    Win a test match

    Long-term goals:

Begin to climb the World Ratings
Qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup
Be consistently competitive against the better teams in world cricket.

Our schedule for the 2022/23 season:

    2 T20I's v India (Home)
    3 ODI's and 3 T20I's v New Zealand (Home)
    2 T20I's v South Africa (Home)
    5 T20I's v Afghanistan (Home)
    T20 World Cup (In Australia)
ODI Tournament v South Africa and Sri Lanka (In Sri Lanka)
    2 Tests, 3 ODI's and 3 T20I's v Bangladesh (Away)

A tough matchup versing India, but lots of positives coming from this match. Doheny was very good batting at 5, but lacked any real support. Kane bowled well but once again lacked support. If we can have multiple people performing like that we can be much more competitive.

Honestly, the less said about this game the better! Their batsman were very destructive and we were unable to contain them. If there was one bright thing coming from this match, it would have to be McBrine and Cameron-Dow's 54 run partnership for the 8th wicket. They saved us from utter humiliation.

ID:	79846 This.... did not go well at all! Balbirnie stood up with the bat, but ultimately New Zealand were the better team. Boult tore through us and 128 is never going to be enough in an ODI

Another crushing defeat. I decided to bowl first and we did relatively well early on. They were in some strife at 88/3 but Nicholls and Munro were just too good for our bowlers. Our batsman once again were not up to the task and bar Balbirnie and maybe Tector no one is batting with any sort of substance in this series.

ID:	79850 Despite losing, there were many, many positives coming from this match. First of all, making 300 against some quality bowlers is no easy feat, and thanks to Tector and Campher's good batting we managed to break the barrier. Our bowling was not where it should've been though, and Henry Nicholls once again played a big role in NZ's win.

ID:	79853 This game shouldn't have been this close. I was happy with 164 on the board, but any chances of us winning vanished when Conway helped them hit 113 in the first 10 overs. McBrine and Campher bowled economically in the last 10 but the game was already over.

ID:	79854We were severely outplayed once again. Munro's 39 ball onslaught brought our good first 10 overs undone. At one point in our chase we were 20/5, and if it weren't for some gritty innings from Tector, McBrine and Adair, the result could've been far worse

            3rd T20I

            Lineup - P. Stirling, S. Doheny (WK), A. Balbirnie (C), H. Tector, C. Campher, S. Thompson, A. McBrine, G. Dockrell, M. Adair, B. McCarthy, C. Olphert

ID:	79855 A better effort, but still not a win. Balbirnie was finally able to replicate his ODI form in the t20's, and Stirling was good in support. Our bowlers just couldn't get us over the line and once again, a good start but bad finish.
