Hi Sureshot , in terms of overseas players, the Australian BBL now allows 3 international players in an XI.
Do you plan on updating the Australian T20 League rosters once they are finalised for the BBL?

Perhaps though there should be a squad limit based on budget to ensure squad sizes are realistic and you can't sign 50 players who all play one format each.
One player per 35k in the budget?
So Derbyshire with a budget of 700k might only be allowed 20 players reflecting the need that for them all players are expected to contribute in all formats.
Lancashire with their 1 million odd budget are looking at more like 28 so can sign more specialists.
Just an idea of a concept rather than specifics but maybe food for thought.

I think the best solution us for the overseas contract to effectively be 6 tickboxes:
County Championship
One Day Cup
T20 Blast
County Championship Reserve
One Day Cup Reserve
T20 Blast Reserve
You can tick up to one box for each format with ALL (no more free reserve) having an impact on contract cost.
Provides great flexibility and adds some decision making at contract time.
Perhaps limit each county to 4 or 5 overseas total as now but no limit on contracts within the 4 or 5.

Great, thanks. I imagine that counties are going to get more creative over who they sign and how they use them from next season which won’t make life too easy for you!

We'll try and get it as accurate as possible. You raise an interesting point, so I've added your point to a document for us to look at next year.
Yes, Kolpak will get removed in-game for England.

Change to overseas signings?
Sureshot
Hi. Are there plans to change the overseas signing system for next year? I know a change in the competition format is going to be a pain but the overseas signings are going to change dramatically too with two overseas players allowed to play in all formats.
I don’t know about other counties but Glamorgan have let de Lange go but signed Labuschange, Micheal Nessar and Ingram on international contracts. They have made it clear that the Labuschange and Nessar are first choice for the FC season with Ingram being preferred for the T20s, however Ingram will come into the FC side if Labuschange is unavailable despite him being ‘retired’ from the format.
The overseas signings can no longer be straight forward main/reserve signings with T20 signings added on. To deal with the situation at Glamorgan all three will need to be able to be picked for FC games so will it change to two classifications where you could sign up to four players who can play across all formats with three more T20 signings still allowed?
Sorry if it’s a bit early to ask, I know not all counties would have finalised their squads and that the time to deal with this may be a few months away!Tags: None
