whats the deal with NZ and T20 in this game, I've got them to 1st in ODI and 2nd in Test Rankings so doing well in those forms but I've only won about probably 40% of my T20 matches and dropped to 7th now, Best I've done with them was made it to Semi Final of a T20 WC... what gives...

I have won the County Championship with Somerset once (in 2016) and been a runner up too (2014). Buttler and Kieswetter bully bowlers from positions 6 and 7, whilst Hildreth, Compton, a regen and Amla (I re-signed him for 2 seasons on the trot) provide solidity at the top.

The test rankings in my game are currently:

    1 England
    2 Australia
    3 India
    4 Pakistan
    5 Sri Lanka
    6 South Africa
    7 West Indies

    8 New Zealand
    9 Bangladesh
    10 Zimbabwe

India have a couple of great regens, my England team is doing well, and South Africa has fallen from glory to 6th!
I am agree with your rankings and I want to create my own test rankings after some matches.

I've returned to a save on last years iPhone version. Playing as my beloved NSW I'm in the 2036\7 season and I now have guys in my team who were 'born' after the game started. I really wished I kept stats on some of these players who've passed through the ranks of my team. I only play Sheffield Shield these days, everything else I simulate.

Well, I've been playing a save as Zimbabwe and am into my second season. It's been OK going...drew the series against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka (1-1) and so-so in the shorter formats. I just auto resolve the T20's as they are infuriating to play...that's a gripe for somewhere else though...

Did have an epic run chase against Sri Lanka when we chased down 491 to win on the back of a Visu Sibanda double century in the first year and then in the next season we had an absorbing 1st Test against Australia. We bowled them out for 188 (Chigumbura took 6) after they had posted 317 after Haddin rescued their innings with 111 in their first dig. We had fallen short with 208 in our first innings with Craig Ervine unbeaten on 87. Despite their dismal second innings there was still 298 to win on a badly deteriorating pitch. Sibanda played another epic knock though this time it was much more slow (68 off over 200 deliveries) but Craig Ervine was the star with 132. The Aussies managed to put on the clamps in the dying stages of the 5th day and even appeared to be saving the Test until Shiringia Masakadza clattered a ball to the boundary in the last over for a famous 3 wicket win.

Zimbabwe seem to be developing a good bowling lineup consisting of Chigumbura, Utseya, Rainsford, Masakadza and now Nathan Waller. Kyle Jarvis has been pushed aside after struggling for form in the Tests. Batting wise its still hit and miss despite the occasional flashes of brilliance. It consists of Mawoyo, Sibanda, Williams (who I am still unsure of and is inconsistant) H Masakadza, Ervine and Taylor. Have utilised Malcom Waller, Zhuwao and the utterly rubbish Mwakayeni (utterly pants!).

Re-Gen is buggered I'm sorry. No batting talent whatsoever coming through in the youth squads etc. When a team laden with talent cannot chase down 100 runs in the 4th innings....happens too often now....bowled out for less than 200runs in both innings in the County constantly. I play as Surrey.

De Kock was about 20k more than Watling, which would have made one of Vince/Rashid/Dernbach not doable, Watling has currently started the season in fine fettle. Just trying to balance my OD batting order.

Lots of changes for season #2:

    Released:
Vernon Philander (a lot of money to justify when struggling)
    Ben Harmison
    Adam Riley
    Ben Kemp
Cameron Borgas (Had some decent OD stats for me, but not that good)
    Charlie Shreck

    Retired:
    Geraint Jones

    New signings;
    James Vince
    Adil Rashid
    Jade Dernbach
A regen who averaged 30 for me in about 7 matches, did okay

    Overseas:
    BJ Watling
    Mushfiqur Rahim (Reserve)
Aaron O'Brien (20 over) Mostly because he was very cheap, decent 20 over stats though

    -------

First season, well the batting eventually started firing, but the bowling dwindled away, Davies and Tredwell were consistent all season, but really struggled for wickets outside of them. Adam Ball did okay. Rob Key hit 1500 FC runs, Alex Blake hit 1000 and was consistent all season, if only scoring a century in the final game of the season.

With Geraint Jones retiring I signed keepers for overseas deliberately, the plan will be to keep with Watling and play Billings as batsman only, to help develop him. The free reserve player was fully utilised, be interesting to see how Rahim goes if he gets a game.

I'm quite happy with the signings of Rashid, Vince and Dernbach. The latter will help in short format cricket, been a fan of the other two for a while and they're good value for money.

    Season 2 objectives:
Develop the youngsters (Bell-Drummond, the regen, Billings and Ball being the most likely to play lots)
Show some better form in the short formats.
Try not to Tie two One Day games! Didn't make any odds on my position but not helpful!
Shame about the first season - Kent are struggling in real life I see! Did you have any money to get an overseas signing. If you want a keeper and need some quick runs, consider de Kock!

So im midway through 2019 as the overlord of Hampshire CCC

Have won the championship for the last 2 seasons, but have only 1 final in the YB40 to show in the limited overs stuff.

Frankly my team is really rather good and i struggle to fit everyone in.

So here is my best XI (probably)

    Michael Carberry
    Jimmy Adams (c)
    James Taylor
    Craig Kieswetter (wk)
    Umar Akmal
    James Vince
    Ben Stokes
    Stuart Broad
    Scott Borthwick
    Stuart Meaker
    Toby Roland-Jones

    Squad:

    Sean Ervine
    Samit Patel
    Norman Orton
    Phil Mustard
    Phil Hutchinson
    Phil Rees
    Rees Topley
    Darren Bravo (Reserve)

    Openers

Carbs and Adams are still going strong at 38, they offer reliabillity and consistently good starts. Both have 16,000 first class runs. For the Limited overs stuff i push Kiestwetter up to open and rest Adams.

    Middle order

James Taylor is an absolute run machine, averages 48 in FC. Amazed he remains off englands radar. Technically excellent and versatile enough to knuckle down when required but can also score quickly in the shorter forms

Umar Akmal is my overseas player, i tend to mix it up and get a different one each season, looking for someone who won't be IPL'ing. Unfortunately i learned the hard way this game doesn't restrict Pakistan players from the IPL.

James Vince has dropped down to six, he only averages 37 but is an excellent counter-attacker who can score quickly with the tail, frankly the top order is strong enough that he doesn't often come in at 50-4

    Keeper

Craig Kiesswetter was a great coup while we were still in Div 2 and i probably paid over the odds at the time but to have a keeper who bats 5 and can open in 40/20 overs is priceless and excellent batsman and the lack of quality spin in county cricket means his weakness against the tweakers is not often exposed

Phil Mustard was signed at the age of 38 as a backup to Kieswetter, a cheap option @24k has only played 2 T20's but won them both single-handedly with destructive innings at the top of the order

    All rounders

Ben Stokes and Stuart Broad are an excellent asset, Broad is perhaps not as prolific as i would like but he has a knack of getting crucial wickets. Ben Stokes is more than good enough as frontline bowler and he averages 35 with the bat

Norman Orton was a first season regen for Essex that i picked up at the end of that season. Very much a Freddie Flintoff reincarnation. A very aggressive batting, RMF bowler. He's a little bit bits and pieces for First class cricket but is more than useful in Limited-overs, bowls a mean yorker and can make quick runs at the death, the kind of player who tilts the balance at key moments

Scott Borthwick has evolved into a tremendous spin bowler, 470 FC wickets at 24.3 speaks for itself, could do with more runs and can be a tad expensive but wickets is wickets!!

    Bowlers

Toby Roland-Jones is very much a safe pair of hands, economical, reliable and capable of long spells, he is the Hoggard of our bowling attack, avgs 27.7

Stuart Meaker is the wildcard, expensive and prone to more than his fair share of offs day he can be absolutely lethal when in-form and firing

Rees Topley provides left arm variation, lethal in t20's and plays in them and replaces Broad when on England duty

Phil Hutchinson (RF) and Phil Rees (OS) are my regen backups andare more than competent enough for most county teams, we however are not most county teams!

So there it is, my only real regret is that the Hampshire academy has yet to produce a real gem despite substantial investment, a few of them are earning decent livings for other counties but none of them have played for England

Finally this calender of the Future Tours program has been useful in establishing overseas player availability, although it doesnt help with the IPL

Ah, that switch around when the batting starts doing well so the bowlers stop doing well.

I've got half the points of 2nd from bottom in the Championship....

I'm just starting the 2017 season with New Zealand. Main bulk of the squad are still players from now. Vettori retiring has killed me as there are no good spinners, travelled to India and lost 2-0 but with a decent spinner would have at least drawn it.

Rutherford is a beast and I'm hoping he goes on to break all New Zealand batting records in Test and ODI. T20i I find are a bit hit and miss, i'm not too interested in them at the moment but I was 1st in the rankings for a couple of years in them. ODIs I am having good success and tests we are improving.

    Enjoying it loads.
