I'd love the option of 5 test series for all countries too.

Don't think this has been mentioned and not sure how popular it would be...would it be possible at some future point to have 2 player career mode...online, lan or even same pc. I have a few mates that play this game and we play football manager network saves and they would like to be able to play a proper 2 player career. I don't know how complicated it would be or how much work it would require but just putting it out there. I'm sure it would interest a few people that know others that play the game.

    Cheers

    Stevo

I would love the ability to chose my overseas players from the start of the 1st county season. And maybe sign overseas players for more than 1 season.

I am keen to see A team off season matches - maybe even just simmed? I think you should be bothered to read the rest of the thread, otherwise you might incur cynicism towards your posts, despite your good suggestions!

To be able to select your A team (ie: Australia A) even if you dont play as them to be able to select the teams so you can see your next generation players come through and who is ready to make the next step.

Also, being able to select the Pitch type for International Cricket would be extreemly handy. Ie; Picking a spinner friendly wicket if you have a gun spinner or a pace friendly wicket if you have a better pace bowling squad.

But more important i think is the A tour selection. I pick guys who have a decent FC average and most of the time they SUCK at international level, i know its realistic but its really hard to get the good players...
Someone like Alex Doolan has come along alot because of the A tours last year, otherwise he wasnt really heard of!

This is a very minor problem but irl medium pacers to trundle in off a couple of steps and bowl like they do in ICC. Again a minor problem but if fixable would be nice.

Yup, that sounds like a good feature to have. For regens though, medium pacers preferred length should generally be quite full. In professional cricket, bowling short consistently at that pace will always be put away by decent batsmen.

I think player height may also affect natural lengths. Also tall bouncy quicks will often push a short batsman onto the back foot for when the ball is a "length" ball.

I'm not sure how you would determine whether a bowler prefers bowling outside off or down leg side - I wouldn't say bowlers generally have a preference, although I notice Mitchell Johnson seems to like bowling down leg side!

I don't think any young prodigy would be able to get into the England test side until he's play FC cricket for about 2 years and done well. I think the strength of England's regens really need to be toned down because that, along with Aus domestic career, are the proper domestic careers we can have. In fact, toning down all regens would be great and boost the youngsters!
Well 20 First class matches is about a season and a bit, but I guess there could be a minimum number of games of 30 before the AI selects a regen? How many games had Root played before selection? Finn had 30 including some friendlies against universities. Smith (19 first class games before debut, including lots of "A" games), de Villiers (16 first class games before selection made up of about half "A" game), de Lange (14 first class matches before test debut only a couple of which were at franchise level) and Steyn (only 7 first class games before debut) got called up to the test team after hardly any (7-19) first class game, but I know less about the English game. In South Africa, the "A" team play lots of games and is sometimes a quick route into the national team, although Steyn who only played 5 matches for his franchise, got called up pretty quickly, so it can happen.

I should point out that the stats about call-up times INCLUDES the lesser provincial matches, so you can knock a few matches off if we are talking "proper" first class games!

I like the idea of them coming through a little younger, although in real life there are loads of people who only really appear at 21, 22, as well as the very young players.
