It is something we've been working on over the last few months, we're as frustrated as you are, unfortunately it's not just a case of click the fingers and it goes away. The situation is certainly better than it was, but still not as we want it.
I can only apologies that it has put people off the site, hopefully we can have it under control by release next year for when the forum gets very active again.
Think I am up to date, please report any errant spam posts.
