SPEED DEMON: South African pace bowler Vernon Philander become the equal second-fastest cricketer to take 50 test wickets.

Until yesterday, Vernon Philander had never heard of Charlie Turner.

And to be fair to him, not too many others knew of Turner either.

But as the South African medium-fast bowler's outstanding start to international cricket continued to gain speed, the thoughts of some turned to whether he might overtake Turner as the fastest man in history to 50 test wickets.

I haven't noticed this, he's always been very good in my games. Although ironically he was maybe too good in earlier editions.

fortunately for him he has been playing on helping pitches, his real test'll come when he would play in alien conditions (i.e Westindies or subcontinent)
