  • Good young bowlers, the lack of them

It seems every time in a county season I get young bowlers develop through the youth system with fair 2nd XI bowling averages of under 30, I train them in general bowling technique, but when it comes to First class matches they seem unable to take wickets and go for plenty?
And also at the transfer window at the end of the season, there are never any real experienced bowlers who have decent averages, plenty of batsmen, though.

if you get a young and his avg is above 21 don't sign him he won't be that good.
instead look for bowlers with 2nd team avg under 20. i once got got a quickie averaging 15 and a spinner averaging 17.

I notice also that the batting averages are significantly lower than how they should be, and how the international bowlers are over performing incredibly.. Im into my 4th season as Warwickshire captain and there are 27 bowlers rating at or higher than 900.. and the top ranked international batsman is 680 and that is Kevin Pietersen, averaging 42..

Anything over 60 should translate to a very good player. I once got a batsman who averaged 100 in the second team. They averaged about 60 for me.

            This

but sometimes they are crap i currently have two batsman from the youth team one avg 46 and the other avg 65. the one the lower avg bats at number 3 for both my club and england, he avg hi 60 for both. while the other one can't bat to save his life.
