Bit confused with the name changes, a lot of the players seem to have completely random different names, is this a bug or intended?

Why did you messed the game up with the players names ? If 25 is going to be like that we really need a editor to correct the names faster .

We understand the name copyright issue but this has now caused a bombshell amongst our members. We were hoping that the names would still bear some similarities but sadly they do not. Eg Steve Smith is now Joe Atkins!! Also dob’s seem to have been changed? It’s caused panic around authenticity. Would it be possible to release a list of all players that have now lost their identity? And leave us to fathom the rest. Otherwise it’s going to put users off buying 25 and it’ll take forever to get the game back to where it was for those that do buy.

Does the name issue affect the ATG list? I understand Venkat as he is/was an umpire/administrator and a large part of the media refered to him as such.

This is incredibly frustrating for everyone, but it does open the opportunity to go back to the golden EA Cricket days with fantastic names like Adam Gelcrast and Sachin Tendali.

In all seriousness, this will have a severe impact on a game that relies heavily on realism and statistics. Big Ant has gotten around the use of non-licensed players by being able to share and use community rosters. If naming is still an issue for the CC25 release, then a way to easily update names in the player base will be required.

Massive thanks for providing the list of removed players Sureshot. Was a huge help when editing the Associate nation players.

On the subject of editing, is there any way extra characters can be added to the amount allowed for team names? I, like a lot of others, like to edit the team names and competition names in my saves and always find there isn’t enough characters available for some of the longer name franchise teams. It would be nice to be able to fit the whole team name in for every team.
