  • Future Game - CC25

I appreciate that this has been a frequently discussed topic for years now, but with the past few games essentially providing an extremely similar (if not identical) game experience, then I feel the need for an editor is imperative in CC25.

As mentioned before, there will always be people who use the editor for purposes that are not intended, but the positives outweight the negatives greatly.

I also appreciate that there is a lot of work needed to create an editor, however the players that buy CC year on year are paying good money, that in all honesty is not proportionate to the quality of the game. These funds should go towards what so many players have been asking to include for so many years now.

The game is becoming stale, outdated and the pricepoint is becoming unrealistic for the product. An editor would go a long long way to fixing these issues, (obviously there are other areas that need bringing into the modern world too, e.g. graphics!!)

Dont care about editing stuff . Maybe just the fixtures for international games. And if you play this game for graphics this is the wrong game . This is a stats based game graphics upgrades will just make game more pricey. I dont even play the game on with highlights.and most players play the game with low end pc's . There are other stuff that the developers can fix like Ai fielding positions, add more competitions and international teams etc..... if we can get the editor I will use it mainly to edit fixtures and add leagues but that the developers can fix so spending extra money every year to fix that is unnecessary because the developers should fix it

Main issue of the game isn't graphics because its so heavenly stats based they must add more playable stuff .

Agree. Would like to see Women's tournaments and Internationals. More complete stats. T20s engine fixed. Love the game. Just wish it was better in certain areas.

This company needs to modernize the user interface and possibly the visuals by replacing the cartoon animation with video footage and player photos. And it needs a lot more technical depth for bowling and batting techniques. And for some strange reason there are few or no classic teams from the 19th and early 20th centuries. Also it would be nice to have actual photos of stadiums instead of the cartoon pictures they use no. All that children’s cartoon animation and pictures need to be modernized

Real photos of players and stadiums can cause licensing issues and requiring licenses will cost money. Thats why you can change the players names .

I dont think you understand the budget or sales for this product.

It's not produced by deep pockets EA Sports nor does it sell the same numbers as FIFA.

Its produced by a very small team I believe with a small budget, unless you want them to charge $100 like major titles, you are not going to get a comparable game.

              2025 requests:

EverythIng I always say about coaching and regens.

Enable the setting of preferred highlight frequency in the main options. I don't watch highlights so be handy to not have to set this each time I go in to play.
Allow the setting of pitch type by format, it's fiddly (remembering) to go in and out of the pitch type screen between games. Or maybe add the pitch type option to the team selection screen for home games.

Remove the thing where weaker players opening the batting in first class default to 1 agg instead of 2 like normal. This is a tell tale sign the player is a dud and doesn't match any other part of the game where performances (ok and salary expectations) are all that indicate ability.

Make the same change to bowling speed for fast bowlers as you made to player batting aggression. Aggression used to be just one of five options from very def to very agg and you replaced it by using strike rates to set the player on a spectrum. Do the same with fast bowling speed (default all players to the middle of whatever their current speed is as speed data not available like s/r is e.g. if scale is 1 to 100, RM 1-25, RFM 26-50, RMF 51 to 75 and RF is 76 to 100 then set all RF to 88 initially) then give a coaching option to either speed up or decrease speed. Benefits are higher speed more likely to take wickets but more chance of injury, slower more economical and better in seaming conditions and lower injury risk.

Expand the overseas contract options massively, think we currently get 60 odd options. Give us 60 batters, 60 bowlers and 60 all rounders + keepers with a toggle to switch between the 3 groups.

Let us make offers during the contract window to buy out the contracts of other clubs players, this would be a good use of excess funds I sometimes have.

Make other clubs release players they haven't used at all during the season.

Make bowlers form take account of economy in t20 games.

Give an option (once per season) to swap the reserve overseas player with a main one for a fee.

Stop injuries interrupting off season coaching. Annoying when a 1 day injury after you set coaching loses a couple months of potential progress until the next opportunity to check.

Is it just me, or has the excitement of the next version not caught on with the 'regulars' here? For the first time, I am not really looking forward to the new version.... "when it comes it comes" - I guess

Agree here . Normally we had an update on the previous game but we haven't had a update yet (hopefully we dont because the new seasons allready started) and then we wait a little bit and then news about the next game comes out . I think players aren't really excited because they know we are going to get more or less the same . (My opinion)

You might as well just post a link to an earlier list of requests as very few have been integrated. Here is one from CC2018

You guys can all comment whatever you feel. I would love more shots addition, better visual display(have a look at Football Manager 2019), improvement in graphics. Also, more options of improvement in bowling section like for spinners, there should be an option to improve drift, turn, bounce, variations etc. And for pacers like

Don't really care about graphics or anything too unrealstic but I think that there are some small things to add to the game
                      • Would like to be able to choose to be captain per series. E.g. be able to delegate to an assistant coach or something skip (simulate) the t20i or odi series if its not a world cup
                      • more injuries, mostly minor for fast bowlers to be more realistic so fast bowlers don't play every game in 3 formats
                      • Better progression of 2nd XI players to play FC, especially when some FC players are averaging 20 odd with the bat after 50 games

Fix the online game. Look at this player, for example, running amok - for all we know they are a 12 year old kid who doesn't know any better

Add a World Cup Tornament to the ATG screen use either the 1975 (with South Africa in place of East Africa) or 1992 draw. For a points system let players make-up their own.
Have a historical campaign the Classic Series linked for an England campaign would be a good trial.
ATG Test series let players chose the grounds as an example Canberra has never hosted a Test it always appears in Australian 5 Test series.

While I understand they cannot add player photos. I would love for them to go back to the days when we could add our own.
I sim long term (my 2002 game is about 350 years old) I like to get to know my players once the real current players have retired. Normally for me that's about a week after buying the game. It's then all regens.
To add some realism (and for my imagination to feel engaged with the platys) I would love to upload my own photos, as we used to be able to do until CC3 came out.
This was a feature in the past that was removed. So specifically NOT images in the game licensed by Childish Things - but our own images
On a side-note I tend to add the players from my own cricket team (Flyford Flavell CC) and play with a team with me and my mates, plus others.

                              Two other issues.
More flexibility with overseas and single year and specific contract players. Spending 30-40% of your budget on players who are marked as "100% available" only to find 2 of them are snapped up never to play for you again 6 weeks into a season - with no recourse. Is not a good thing. I've had extreme situations where I have chosen complete rookies with great potential but no international experience. 2 FC players, a T20 specialist and a back up. All showing 100% available.
Only to have every single one of them taken from my team by mid July to play for their international teams. All because they had fantastic starts to the English FC season in my team.
IRL teams sign quick overseas replacements. Get their money back. Only pay for the played part of the contract (why am I paying for a load of players who are not playing for my club?... I want my money back if they leave me high and dry after giving them huge contracts)
This has been an issue for years and years. To the extent that I simply ignore overseas players now and treat them as a waste of money. I would rather not have to do that.

Despite ICC 2002 running like greased lightning on my old 800 mhz single core processor. The latest version when pressing space for over by over or ball by ball runs really really slowly. In 2002 I could sim a full first class (4 day) game pressing space - just stopping to change bowlers or a quick field change - in 2 or 3 minutes
Now with 16x the ram and a processor that runs at almost 5.8Ghz (not withstanding 23 years of compounded IPC improvements on the processor) it runs verty very slowly. Simming a 4 day game now takes perhaps 5x longer.

Once you are set up and running. Especially in a "dead season" playing all these games so slowly is a bit of a chore. It doesn't add to the strategy for me. I make the same number of tactical decisions whether the game sims fast or slow. These days it just takes so much longer. And this has nothing to do with the graphics they added after 2002 as I turn those off anyway.
I get the simulation is better now than it was 23 years ago. But surely given how much better hardware is these days - it can be quicker than this?

Oh and more stats - but I've been saying that for 27 years. So I have no real expectations in that regard.
The continued lack of stats in ICC is not so much the elephant in the room - as the Brontosaurus in the bathtub.
