Series 1 - Afghanistan in Zimbabwe

      1st ODI
      Lineup - W. Madhevere, R. Chakabva, C. Ervine, S. Williams, S. Raza, R. Burl, C. Madande (WK), T. Chatara, D. Melton, R. Ngarava, B. Muzarabani
      Unused - T. Kaitano, M. Shumba, T. Chivanga, D. Tiripano

What a performance first game! Every batsman made at least a start and every bowler apart from Muzarabani and Burl was able to take a wicket! We were in a little hole at 36-2 but Ervine, Williams and Raza all showed their class helping us reach 291. We took consistent wickets with the ball and despite some good lower order hitting from Omarzai and Ahmad, we won quite comfortably

      2nd ODI
      Lineup - W. Madhevere, R. Chakabva, C. Ervine, S. Williams, S. Raza, R. Burl, C. Madande (WK), T. Chatara, D. Melton, R. Ngarava, B. Muzarabani
      Unused - T. Kaitano, M. Shumba, T. Chivanga, D. Tiripano

This was the Hussan and Gurbaz show! Everything I tried seemed to make it easier for them to hit more and more boundaries. Madhevere picked up our solitary wicket, which was in the last over of the game.

      3rd ODI

      Lineup - W. Madhevere, T. Kaitano, C. Ervine, S. Williams, S. Raza, R. Burl, C. Madande (WK), T. Chatara, D. Tiripano, R. Ngarava, B. Muzarabani
      Unused - R. Chakabva, M. Shumba, D. Melton, T. Chivanga

Even though we ended up falling short, we are very, very lucky this wasn't a hundred run defeat. At one point we were 98-6 but a 106 run stand between Burl and Chatara got us within touching distance. Burl was run out and Chatara trapped LBW within 5 deliveries, pretty much sealing the game for Afghanistan

      Series Stats

      Runs/Strike-Rate

      S. Williams 69 @ 76.7

This was a very poor performance. Going into this series I knew Afghanistan were a good team, but they were all over us in this game. Their spinners were just too good, and we were never going to defend 109.

Another game we were just outplayed by a better opposition! Our top order gave our lower order a good launching platform, but we capitulated. Too many players scored at a 50-strike rate for around 10 deliveries then got out! We also dropped 4 catches which didn’t help our cause.

Apologies for the long waits between games, lost lots of files on my PC so it took a long time to recover them all. Hoping to get the series back into full swing now!

I may also start an English Domestic career, as it is something I haven't done for a few years, but this story will be my main focus for the moment.

Also, the completionist challenge will sadly not be continuing, as I have lost the file and am unable to recover it.

Another game, another loss. We actually bowled relatively well, Muzarabani lead the attack very nicely. We leaked a few too many runs in the last 5 overs, and our batsman were just not up to the task!
