Moving forward, the posts on games will not be as long because otherwise it will take forever to get through this series.

Sorry if you enjoyed the longer posts, they may return for FC matches but in limited overs the posts will be much shorter

Our First Class season is beginning to get better, with us now sitting 5th just below Sussex.

Azad is the only player to average above 40, and in future season I want more players with a higher average. Parkinson's good bowling campaign has continued, with 24 wickets @ 29.58. The best bowling average belongs to George Rhodes, with 2 wickets @ 9.50.

Going into the Vitality Blast we want to take use of Ackermann and Parkinson, two of our best t20 players before they move off to the 100.

          20 over opener!

          Leicestershire v Durham

          Leicestershire Lineup

          H. Rutherford S. Steel A. Lilley C. Ackermann (C) N. Cleef H. Swindells (WK) R. Ahmed C. Parkinson G. Griffiths N. ul-Haq R. Walker

          Durham Lineup

          A. Lees D. Bedingham G. Clark B. Stokes S. Dickson A. Turner B. Carse N. Eckersley (WK) P. Coughlin M. Potts B. Raine

          The game

Rutherford and Steel gave us a solid 35 run partnership up front, but quick wickets brought us back down to earth, at 58 for 4. Swindells and Colin Ackermann batted beautifully together in a 51 run partnership, but after that a collapse came and we were bowled out for 134. Coughlin was their best with 3/12.

Another good opening stand from Lees and Bedingham took the game away from us, even with Walker picking up both of them Stokes and Clark drove them home by 8 wickets.

          Good performances

There weren't many good performances, but Walker with 2/23 was our best.

          Disappointments

Our batting was far from what we are capable of with Lilley and Cleef getting out cheaply.

            Derbyshire v Leicestershire

            Derbyshire Lineup

            S. Masood M. Wagstaff B. Godleman L. du Plooy W. Madsen B. Guest (WK) A. Dal A. Thomson M. Watt N. Potts G. Scrimshaw

            Leicestershire Lineup

            H. Rutherford (C) H. Swindells (WK) S. Steel A. Lilley R. Patel N. Cleef W. Mulder R. Ahmed C. Parkinson G. Griffiths R. Walker

            The game

We won the toss and chose to bowl, with a good powerplay from Griffiths, Mulder, and Walker restricting them to 2/39. Parkinson and Ahmed continued the flurry of wickets, leaving Derbyshire 5/61 with 7 overs left. Madsen and Dal then combined to give Derbyshire something to defend, but 126 for 8 is nothing special. Walker continued his wicket taking campaign with 3 wickets.

Swindells took the Derbyshire bowlers on early on, smashing a 58 run partnership with Rutherford up front. Rutherford tried to follow Swindells but got himself out, bringing Scott Steel to the middle. Swindells went soon after for a very good 48. Lilley was dismissed for a golden quacker, and Derbyshire had some momentum. Cleef and Steel guided the team home with 31 balls remaining.

            Good performances

Steel and Swindells batted very well, with 31* and 48 respectively. Roman Walker was good with 3/34 and Parkinson's 2/22 helped restrict them.

            Disappointments

Arron Lilley's golden duck may see him dropped sooner rather than later.

              Leicestershire v Yorkshire

              Leicestershire Lineup

              H. Rutherford (C) H. Swindells (WK) S. Steel C. Ackermann H. Finch N. Cleef W. Mulder R. Ahmed C. Parkinson G. Griffiths R. Walker

              Yorkshire Lineup

              T. Kohler-Cadmore A. Lyth D. Malan T. Loten J. Tattersall (WK) M. Waite S. Khan J. Thompson D. Bess B. Coad G. Stuurman

              The game

We batted first on a spinning wicket, and Rutherford and Swindells continued their good form with a 73 run opening stand, eventually broken by Thompson. A couple more wickets left us at 3/92 at the halfway point, needing a good launch here. Ackermann and Finch both took their opportunity in the team and played well to get the score to 166 with a few overs left. A bit of a collapse at the end forced us to end on 172 for 8, a defendable total on this surface. All bowlers picked up two wickets apart from Stuurman, who was unable to take one.

Lyth started off with a bang, taking it to our opening bowlers. Wickets fell consistently around him until Tattersall joined him with the score at 3/69. A handy 40 run partnership formed until Walker broke through and opened the game right up. The spin duo of Parkinson and Ahmed bowled well at the end to save the day and we had won by 8 runs.

              Good performances

Ackermann and Finch's partnership to get us a good total.

Parkinson was economical and also picked up 2 wickets.

              Disappointments

Norman Cleef has not been able to fire, and with an average of 6.33 from 3 innings, he may lose his spot.

                Northamptonshire v Leicestershire

                Northamptonshire Lineup

                C. Lynn R. Vasconcelos B. Curran R. Keogh J. Cobb H. Gouldstone (WK) L. Procter T. Taylor S. Zaib M. Kelly A. Russell

                Leicestershire Lineup

                H. Rutherford (C) H. Swindells (WK) S. Steel C. Ackermann H. Finch R. Patel W. Mulder R. Ahmed C. Parkinson G. Griffiths R. Walker

                The game

Northamptonshire put themselves into bat on a very tough wicket, and struggle during the powerplay limping to 5/34, with Mulder and Griffiths on fire. Gouldstone and Procter had other plans though, batting well to give Northamptonshire's bowlers something to bowl at.

We had a horror start to our innings losing Rutherford and Steel in the first over. The wickets continued to tumble, with Finch the only batter to put up resistance. We were bowled out for 47, an absolute horror performance and the batting lineup may be changed, especially the top order.

                Good performances

Wiaan Mulder's 3/31 was very good.

                Disappointments

The batting was nothing good, so we need to get into better form.

                  Warwickshire v Leicestershire

                  Warwickshire Lineup

                  P. Stirling A. Davies D. Sibley S. Hain D. Mousley C. Benjamin (WK) W. Rhodes D. Briggs C. Miles J. Lintott L. Norwell

                  Leicestershire Lineup

                  H. Rutherford H. Swindells (WK) S. Steel C. Ackermann H. Finch L. Kimber R. Ahmed G. Griffiths C. Parkinson (C) N. ul-Haq R. Walker

                  The game

We won the toss and chose to bat, on a pretty evenly balanced pitch. In the first four overs of the match, we lost 4 wickets for 22 runs. Another poor start meant we needed a good middle order partnership. A rebuild from Kimber and Finch meant we were 81 for 4 halfway through the innings. Finch skied a delivery during the twelfth over and was caught for a good 35 off 29. Kimber soon passed 50, the first anyone had scored for us in all of the Blast. Kimber's innings ended but his 58 has given our bowlers a chance. Griffiths' quick fire 26 got us to 156 all out.

Our bowlers had a good start, taking 3 wickets in the opening two overs. The powerplay finished with Warwickshire on 4/40, with the decision to open with Rehan Ahmed paying dividends, he took 2/20 from his first 3 overs. Warwickshire needed 83 runs from the last 10 overs, with 6 wickets in hand. Naveen ul-Haq took 2 wickets in 3 balls getting Leicestershire's nose in front. Will Rhodes played aggressively to make Warwickshire require 10 off 12 balls. Swindells took possibly catch of the season to dismiss Lintott, with 2 required off 4 balls, only for Norwell to smack a square drive and win the game for his team.

                  Good performances

Louis Kimber and Harry Finch's partnership

                  Rehan Ahmed opening the bowling

                  Disappointments

Scott Steel failed once again, leaving questions to whether he will keep his spot.

Roman Walker was just too expensive with the ball.
