  • Surrey issue with players away

I have always played with Surrey in the county in CC.

There is still this issue, with too many players getting picked for international duty and also getting multiple players suffering significant injuries at the same time.

It makes it very hard to be competitive, especially with the fixture restructure in the 2020 version. You are playing a combination of 1st class, or limited overs matches with almost 3/4 quarters of your list unavailable.

I am currently in the 2023 season, and i currently have 19 players on my list unavailable.

19? Owch. I guess it shows just how bad the current schedule could be for a club.

How big is your squad? We've introduced a cap on 100 squaad size limits for the next patch.

I must admit the most i have probably ever had, after 3 youth players were introduced during the season

            Yep, I hate the 100

12 of my top/regular players gone means I'll be having to use some Defensive batsmen for the One Day trophy. I don't know why I bother signing any aggressive batsmen... I never get to use them in the competition I signed them for! That doesn't include other players on international duty or injured.

I can field a team but The 100 has meant the Challenge Trophy is now essentially a reserve competition. Anyone good at white ball cricket gets whisked away. The main problem is I have to play First Class players due to a lack of options, when I'd really like to rest them until the county championship resumes. And there's a good chance their form will be in the dirt by that time.

I signed an all-rounder who wasn’t playing in the 100 specifically for the OD matches. He was promptly drafted and for the second season in the row had to field 5 specialist bowlers.

The 100 has always seemed like a bizarre answer to a self inflicted problem and playing this game has done nothing to dispel the notion that it is almost as good an idea as letting my 4yo decide help me put the car engine back together this morning.

I think this is one worse than yours! One of the bowers has played in just 17 limited overs matches in their short career.

Yep, I've got 8-10 missing from my Essex squad at the moment which means I'm left with tired players or youth/reserves.
