I had a long break from playing CC games until this year and what I remember from the old days is a good 2nd 11 average meant everything. On this version its still a good chance if a batsmen averages over 70 or a bowler under 20 then they will turn good, that makes sense. But the addition of players developing well with poor or average 2nd 11 averages is what the game needed and now does.
If you look at my screenshots, Will Reeves was a pretty average 2nd 11 player and those figures wouldnt have convinced my to sign him. But he came through our youth system and was forced to play when half our squad went off to play the 100. He did well and slowly forced his way into our first 11 and has even played a bit for England! Ok he won't be a Botham/Flintoff/Stokes but credit to the makers of the game that this can now happen.
