Both of these goals add longevity to the game. Beating previous player-set records, achieving long term (20 season plus) goals of taking an associate team high in the world test rankings.

Developing 18 year olds and have them playing still at 41 with all that entails.

Personalising players without unbalnacing the game (PLEASE return the ability for us to put in our own player photos. I don't care if the game comes with none, I didn't use the ones provided anyway)

Having me in a side, with some of my local cricketing buddies and heroes playing in a side against India in Kolkatta in 2055. Great (obviously a much younger me lol)

Stats, wider scope for improvement (with associates) and personalization (which can easily slip into "personal involvement" which is a good addictive addition)....
all add to the game with very little need to mess with a solid game engine.
Though from what I read 2011 still has players not realizing there is a run chase on and blocking out too much and losing (mind you I watched England play like that in 5 ODI's against India last year)

      Scritty
The continued lack of stats in ICC is not so much the elephant in the room - as the Brontosaurus in the bathtub.

This, just so much this. I would love to have photos too, would be very cool. I don't know why, but I just love the idea of being able to take an underdog to test status. After Australia, Ireland are my second favourite team and I love guys like Paul Stirling, Kevin O'Brien and George Dockrell and would love to play using them (not in county cricket).

Outside of the suggestions already mentioned I would like to bowling speed indicated in games with bowlings having speeds determined by their skills and type of bowling. Bowling speeds would then change depending on player fitness, length of current spell and age. Taking wickets could also invigorate the bowler into maintaining speed and fitness longer much like it does in real life games.

Further on most other peoples suggestions I would mostly like to see player attributes handled better. Being able to develop the individual skills of players would be good and interesting. Below is a quick run through of how I'd do it although it could be expanded upon. The Star system like currently used for form could be used for each skill with 5 full stars representing total mastery and all empty stars meaning the skill hasn't been developed.

          Fast/Fast Medium/Medium Fast/Medium Bowlers
          Pace
          Accuracy
          In Swing
          Out Swing
          Seam
          Leg/Off Cutter
          Slower Ball
          Yorker
          Bouncer

          LS/OS/SLA/SLC Spin Bowlers
          Pace Variation
          Accuracy
          Spin
          Flight
          Wrongun/Doosra
          Top Spinner/Arm Ball

          Batsmen
Technique (this could be done differently with a few different types of techniques on offer such as classical, unorthodox and so on to show how the player is or it could just simply show how technically sound the player is)
          Off Side
          Leg Side
          Pace
          Spin
          Fast Bowling
          Spin Bowling
Aggressive Shots(these two can represent how aggressive or defensive a player may or can be. It could be possible they could be both.)
          Defensive Shots
Likelihood of Leaving (could be bundled with Defense)
          Running between the wickets

Fielding(one of my current big griefs in the game is the inability to improve fielding)
          Catching
          Throwing
Ball Stopping ability(representing how often the field fumbles balls hit to him etc)
Speed in the field(representing how fast the field gets to the ball etc)
          Wicketkeeping Pace
          Wicketkeeping Spin

The ability to mould some or all of these abilities and watch players grow would be good IMO. The skills could also interact with one another so if you were to work on improving the pace of a genuine fast bowler success in increasing pace could potentially lead to a drop or even increase in accuracy or ability to swing the ball etc.

At the absolute worst case fielding improvements would be good. It can frustrating to have games in commanding positions only to have 6-10 dropped catches in an innings. I know some teams are bad at fielding but I seem to get the short straw an aweful lot.

Finally changing the environment settings and making them more effective could be good. On numerous occasions I've had both teams score more runs in the second innings after the pitch has detiorated further. I know it is possible but more often than not it should be the other way around.

It is great that the allrounder issue has been somewhat rectified. However I think it is necessary to fully address it for the sake of the balance of the international game.

In ICC2010 virtually no international quality regen allrounders are produced.
This was a terrible oversight by the developers.

Now we see that in ICC2011 Australia, England and Sri Lanka produce a boatload of high quality regen allrounders.

Which begs the question - why have Pakistan, South Africa and the West Indies been left out of this fix? They should be producing quality regen allrounders too, but the developers seem to have conveniently forgot about these countries.

It is extremely aggravating seeing these international sides never having an allrounder playing and consistenly going into ODI and T20 fixtures with five specialist bowlers. Please fix this.

it would be good if you could see what the players average is per batting position.
and which bowler get which batsmen out!

Have been playing this game on and off for a decade now (can't believe it!!) and every time i've played there's just one glaring omission: inexplicably there is no input for a players' series averages, or a man-of-the-match/man of the series award! the records system should be updated, since there have been the same types of records since as long as i can remember - would be great to have a "record runs in a 4 match series" etc. making the records more customisable similar to cricinfo's statsguru (obviously this is a long-term goal) would be awesome

                      Two points really.

Firstly, youth players. More specifically the ages they come through at. Often players will be promoted at 22-24. I think that's a little too old and youth players should be promoted at 16-21, peaking at 18/19. That is is if the current system remains, I'd be a big fan on 2nd teams at domestic level and A sides at international level.

My second point is injuries. First, in my experience I don't think they are quite frequent enough and most of the injuries tend to be for a few weeks. I haven't seen too many long term injuries or just small injuries ruling players out for a few days. Second, injuries only really seem to occur when players are batting or when a bowler runs out of stamina. There are no injuries to fielders and injuries to bowlers should be able to happen at any time but with increasing risk when the player is more tired. Also, do injuries ever happen outside of games while 'in training'.

The ability to be able to play as Nations like Ireland & Netherlands.

The ability to be able to chose what first class side you can play trial matches against from anywhere around the world. For example if you are playing as NSW you can play a trial against Guyana & Hampshire before the start of the season.

It's probably been mentioned before, but regen keepers HAVE to get better at batting... I've seen several county teams playing a keeper at 10 or 11, and that just would not happen in real life at the moment, when every new keeper is a batsman who can vaguely catch.

I have requested this on previous versions so I am not sure if it is possible. It would be really great if online stats for disconnected games could be added to your players record, just as they do IRL rained out matches.

This way you will not so much feel like jumping out in front of a train after your opponent disconnects when you have them 9 down in the fourth inning as the records are still there, as opposed to an uncompleted game becoming nothing but a complete memory.

Also what about maximum of three saved games to be able to be used online at any one time? Say if you have three active online games and want to add another one you would have to retire one of your current active online saves from online play infinitely in order to make way for another save.

You see all these players logging in with one team, logging out then logging back in with some other random team all the time.
